    Default Dear N00b DJ

I put this here instead of in music since I'm not really ranting about his music selections.

1.) Don't fuck with the rotation so that certain girls are on stage every five minutes and others don't go up for an hour.

2.) SHUT THE FUCK UP. Put the mic down and just push the fucking button already. Nobody wants to hear you go "Uh-huh" "Yup" "Yeah" "Retox" over the last 30 seconds to minute of every given song.

3.) This ain't a proper nightclub honey, there is no need to announce the fact we're "live." Obviously we're live, otherwise we'd be laying dead on the floor or else we'd be on videoscreens.

4.) There's these new inventions, they're called "Airplanes." When you're moving your office over a long distance, generally you put the important shit such as your laptop on the airplane, not on a fucking container ship.

Yes, I realise you're working out of the CD books which generally suck balls. For that I give you some level of the benefit of the doubt musicly. However, fuck ups 1, 2, and 3 are not caused by a lack of good music. They are caused by you being a n00b in combination with what I'm suspecting might perhaps be a bit of an ego. I'm okay with ego so long as you have the skills to back it up in ther here and now. I don't care what shows you've played in the past, what your name is, what shows you're currently promoting, etc. All I want is a DJ who can select music that isn't complete shit and then click the little play button, bonus points if you're fun to be around.

You have hmmmm...let's go arbitrarily for three weeks...to prove that you are worthy of not inspiring my wrath. I have no fear of dicking your tip if necessary, I've certainly done to other DJs before. If in three weeks you have not proved yourself at least minimally capable, all amaranthine hell shall reign down.

    Sincerely,
    Amaranth

P.S. God I love how my name can also be turned into a verb!

either way, you could pick apart sentence structure of half of stripperweb posters, this isnt a spelling bee or a english class, so if you dont have something constructive to say STFU.

sorry the abbreviations may be too much for you...lol

    I feel your pain haha!!

I agree...I think three weeks is enough time to be patient and give someone a chance to get all settled in.

After that, "technical difficulties" should be reduced to a bare minimum. Nothing throws me off worse then when I am on stage or doing a table dance and all of sudden the music stops. It is hard to shake your ass to total silence .

^^^^^or even worse the dj that has a weird love affair with the blinding lights going on and somehow accidentally three or four dozen times a night turns on the house lights as part of his stage light routine.
we had to disconnect that switch in the dj booth to keep from confusing the dancers and customers.

^^buwhahahah...so true. Nothing ruins the "strip club magic" like having the house lights turned on.

Oh hell no. That would drive me batshit crazy. Especially if I were one of the girls going up every 'five minutes'. Hell to the fucking no. That's fucking with your money right there-there's no way you can sell dances if you're up on stage that much. I would not tip him a dime.

Oh God with the lights! Our new DJ runs our strobe lights for a good 30-45 seconds at a time... if not longer. Our club is not big enough to do that without multiple strippers getting nauseas.

That's what annoyed me the most, especially since he has kind of a lame voice. But I like him and I hope he stays. What can I say, I will put up from a lot from a DJ who plays AC/DC without someone requesting it and goes a whole night without playing Soulja Boy.

Whatever, Thunderstruck is my signature song. Older guys love it and a lot of younger ones, too.

Oh god-we had a dj in for a couple nights, supposedly from Scores West, who played techno ALL night and ran the strobes without pause. ALL night. I had to do my stage without opening my eyes for too long. I asked him to stop the lights, but he said he didn't know how. It was like the worlds worst trip.

He dosn't have a lighting problem, which I'm thankful for. Then again, I'm pretty sure we only have one DJ left who'se geeky enough to know how to do wierd things with the lights.

Overall, I'd say he is a nice guy personality wise. I really do WANT to like him it's just he hasn't shown me the skill I require out of my DJs. Perhaps things will get better when his laptop shows up, but for now he's just trying to float on his name and I really have few greater pet peeves.

As for AC/DC, SHOOT ME. I fucking hate that shit...I think I might arguably take Souldja Boy before AC/DC, lol.

Haha ew ew ew, and I was starting to think you were cool, too.

I noticed the messed-up rotation too and that kind of confused me, but I hate the stage and he hardly ever put me on it so I didn't complain. I guess not many things can faze me when I'm working, crappy DJs, stripper drama, etc.

Anyway I think he is just filling in while the other DJ tries to get his job back so he might not even have 3 weeks to figure it out.

Most nights I am not a big fan of doing stage either. I was pretty happy because he skipped over me like 3 or 4 times !! However it was pretty funny when I was on stage at one point and then announced I was on stand by. It really confused my custie haha!

Oh wow, that's awesome! I missed out on that one! Personally I enjoy stage time for the most part (I enjoy showing off, what can I say, lol) but I'm just a human being, not a robot.

As much as I want to like the new guy, I really would prefer to have Thomas back. Life just ain't as much fun without somebody to shout "GO!" with at the exact right moment in the exact right My Chem song. He was the only person in the club I could share emo stuff with.

As for AC/DC vs Souldja Boi, what can I say...I'm musicly a new-skooler. Classic rock is like a slow painful death by wankery to me whereas really shitty hip hop is a slow painful death with a beat I can pick apart and find some ray of synthesized sunshine in.

Agreed 100%. I don't know much about the circumstances of his firing, but what I heard sounded like total bullshit.

I did not recieve deets of the circumstances either, but I was told from a reliable source they were indeed bullshit so HOPEFULLY we shall see the return of Thomas. He was in for a couple of minutes on sunday and he mentioned how he'd been fired before like three times and was mostly just concidering this "summer break."
