    Default vitamin regimine for immunity

So in this program I'm taking, if we miss 2 classes, we are kicked out. If we go to school ill we will be asked to leave and then kicked out. Basicially, no missing, no getting sick.

So I need to really make sure I don't catch a cold. Aside from Vitamin C, and a multi, what other vitamins should I be taking to make sure I don't get sick?
I'm increasing my fruit and veggie intake and drinking more water as well.

What kind of program is that? Yeesh!

I've heard that echinacea is a good solid preventative but that if you take it for more than six weeks in a row you'll get sick after you discontinue it since your system gets hooked. So, you might want to keep that in mind, but it's probably a good idea to take it as long as you know you won't be lax about it.

Water is a very good idea.

If you think you're starting to get sick, take zinc lozenges (not the nose gel or spray, it's dangerous) and a buttload of garlic. Juice garlic in a juicer with carrots and apples.

I found that I got sicker more often when I had my smoking phases. Also, smoking kept my lungs too exhausted to want to work out...and working out i've read can help keep up your immune system if you don't over-do it.

I also got sick more frequently when I formed a little coke habit at my club. aside note:Coke wears down the body after the high...not to mention how it can permanently fuck up your serotonin-and-other-good-stuff-receptors in your brain, so you'll need more and more of it...some stuff i've read suggested it's sort of like depression...things that used to make you happy wont make you happy as much anymore because the coke physically altered your receptor sites....something like that. You get the point. That's why habitual coke users need more and more of it to generate a high almost as good as their first...the body/brain gets used to it...so you need more and more...the whole body resistance idea... I read somewhere in some study involving rats and coke that those who were given it and then had tumor cells implanted in them...the rats on coke had their tumors grow much faster than the rats without the coke who also were implanted with tumor cells. So maybe it suggests that coke can lower your immune system? Maybe because it's wearing down on your body so much...after the initial big ping it gives you.

I don't know if you smoke or do whatever else, but all i'm saying and to everyone here is in my experience doing coke and smoking made me more likely to get sick...not to mention lose my voice THREE times over just 3 months...and sound like I was an old lady with emphysema...and feel so depressed and tired and sluggish that it was like the equivalent of being stuck in bed from a cold. ...And of course I got sick with the cold a couple of times.

I just try to eat a spinach salad every day, lots of FRESH (not canned) fruit, veggies...and multivitamins and fish and flax oil...and l-lysine seems to help keep away viruses like colds...though of course most of the good effects from taking all this were negated by the times I was smoking too much and using coke too much at work because it was a social thing i did with work buddies

It's for a nursing class, and yeah, I smoke, but don't do any drugs.

All I can add is wash your hands frequently, and don't touch your face.

That's so messed up. I have never, ever heard of being kicked out of a class for being sick. Especially when only missing two classes will get you the boot. How on earth can they expect you to have some kind of freak of nature immune system where you never get sick? What BS.

Anyways, drinking lots of water is always good, always wash your hands or carry hand sanitizer with you. A lot of people get sick from touching something that a sick person did and then rubbing their eyes or putting fingers in their mouth.

Try and eat healthy too, take multivitamins made for women-I believe they have more calcium and iron. And Vitamin C.

What's their reasoning behind this? It's such BS and I'm really curious as to why in the world they would do that.
