    Default My mirena is in

SO i knew i wanted this but i was a little worried about it. (I had a c section instead of a vag delivery so i never fully dialated)
    Anyway
My new kick ass insurance covered it so i knew i had to at least try.
Dude it was practically painless. I took a painkiller before going in, so i'm sure that helped but I would call the whole ordeal slightly uncomfortable.
A little cramping and i haven't experienced any bleeding yet. The speculum probably hurt the most lol. I'm excited to have brainless birth control that i don't have to think about until i'm ready to have another baby.

    Funny side story-
I made my husband come with me cause i was nervous and i sat up after the doctors left and he is white as a ghost and pouring sweat. He totally almost passed out lol, but i was fine. I actually had to get up so he could lay down hahaha. Men!

That's good that it went well! A good friend of mine has the copper one, and she had a few problems for the first couple months, but that one also doesn't have any hormones.

And I had a similar situation with a friend of mine while I got my epi when I was in labor. They were asking me if I was feeling light headed, dizzy, etc.....well, my friend who was holding my hands was like "woah, I am" so they made her sit on the floor with her head between her knees!

It's funny how it affects the people who aren't having anything done!

I have a mirena in. I've had a lot of problems with breakthrough bleeding. I need to wear a pantyliner just in case almost all the time now cause I never know if Im going to bleed or not.
Other than that I love it!

    I REALLY want this.

Have you had sex yet? Can you/guy feel that it's in there?

Glad to hear that it didn't hurt. Some peoples stories about insertion are awful.

It would be great if you got lucky and didn't get your period for what five years...hells yha!

^Yeah you can have it without having had kids. I just had the copper IUD put in a few months ago. IDK about the Mirena, but as far as my copper one, I do have more painful and heavier periods but it's only been two months, and they are getting less painful/heavy with each period. Good luck!

They used to not give IUD's to women without children because the IUD could cause scarring leading to infertility. That isn't true anymore though. IUD's have come a long way since then and have become a lot safer....but some old school doctors still will not give an IUD to a childless woman. If yoru doc refuses...it just shows how behidn the times he/she is, and I would suggest a different doctor.

IUDs are amazing. I thank the wonders of modern medicine every day for my copper IUD.
Good luck! Glad it was less traumatic for you than it was for your guy!

After I had mine put in, I didn't even spot for 3 months - it was glorious. Now I get a regular period every month but it's very light. I just wear a panty liner and haven't used a tampon in a year and a half!

Hope you continue to like it!

Kaylinn- you make a good point. And I'm so glad people here are willing to share their experiences... (turns out my appt. is today, not yesterday... I think the scheduling people got it wrong. ...er maybe I did. lol.) either way, I'll post up if I get it in today!

So i've been experiencing light cramping for a week and today i started spotting very lighting.
I had really vigorous sex yesterday and he didn't mention feeling anything different.

2 advils take the cramping away nicely
