Default A selling technique from my friend the salesman...

So I have a buddy who's a great salesman. He's promoting an independently published book right now -- usually the kind of thing that's a tough sell -- and he mentioned having success at a convention with this technique:

"So what do you like best about (this type of thing)?"

Then he listens to the answer, and only *then* starts to talk about his product and how it fulfills what they want.

Now, there are a few places where this could go wrong when selling a private dance (customers asking for extras, etc) but I still think it has great potential. You'd just have to make it a really general question: "What do you like best about strip clubs / strippers?" -- and then mirror their answer with something you can do for them.

This sounds like a decent question to ask! It provides hustle insight while making fun sexy small talk.

Unless they say something like "The free show" like most cheap-o's will...but no this is a great question. It allows them to give their opinion making them feel important.

To allievate the problem with them sayign extras or somethign, I would ask it this way:

What do you like best about a private dance is it the closeness, the sensuality, the view or the entire experience? ( or somethign like that)

Then they will pick one of what you listed, isnstead of come up with their own answer...it's controlling the conversation and the results so you can direct everything.

Awesome, thank you! Good way to gauge what they're there for. Even if they do say something like extras/free show, well then you know to run away.
