    Default Bruising (I'm new)

I have been dancing for 3 weeks and I know a few pole tricks but I have never had bruises like this before, I am trying the arnica gel but it doesn't seem to be working fast enough and is messy any suggestions....I have 4 days till my next show and I have an ugly one on my butt!

I don't know of any products actually designed to take away bruises. When you first start dancing it's pretty normal to bruise up at first. Try some concealer.. a lot of dancers use Derma Blend to cover them up. Wear stocking or wear skirts.

They go away after a while, trust me.

Until then, you can cover the bruises with makeup. I like Dermablend.

Take lots of Tylenol or Aspirin. Take it before you go into work until the swelling goes down. You may also want to get some thigh high boots for days when your knees are really swelled. You can wrap your knees and hide them in the boots. Arnica is a life saver though!

    x2 on the search.

If a guy notices the bruises, I smile and say I like it rough, and they usually don't seem to mind them.

You guys say the bruising stops after a while... Really? How long would you guys say it takes?

also if you are bruising from the pole, use more upper body to hold yourself if you can, and avoid solely holding the pole with your legs

When I came back to dancing from 2 years off, it took about a month for the 'everyday bruising' to settle down-knee pressure bruises, that sort of thing. I get new ones when I try anything new or bust my butt on the floor though. Lovely bunch at ankle, knee and hip at the moment. If you're still bruising and it's been a while, maybe you need more iron? A multi-vit and cheerios (or any iron enriched cereal) help me.
