Do you ever get mistaken for being younger or older?
I know with me, i'm 28 now and people often think i'm anywhere between 18-23. I know this sounds like a great thing and it is at times..but recently i have started studying again and some of the lecturers there have just assumed i guess, that i'm the same age as the majority of the class..which could be anywhere between 17 and 23.
Get this, I actually missed a few classes and told the teacher on the phone how i'm just not sleeping well at the moment, that maybe i have a bit of anxiety etc. I thought i was just opening up to her in private and she went on to tell me I should keep taking the pills, that it will take over my life (depression) if i didn't............
I told her that i wasn't depressed..nor did i want to take any pills (the dr had given me soem to try and after 1 and a dizzy experience i threw them out) and that i enjoyed school etc.
Well...next thing i get a call from my parents who are on vacation at the moment, asking my why this drama queen is calling them up seeming concerned about me. i set them straight and then left a very assertive message on this teacher's answering service telling her i didn't appreciate her doing that, that i wasn't a child.
It just made me think, not only do i look younger, i guess i must act it too..i can't beleive that teacher did that, altho i can understand her concern thinking i was perhaps younger.![]()
