I use it every night, but I built up to that over a period of 2 or 3 months. Now, if I don't use it very night, while still clear, my skin doesn't have that glow that I like.

do u use it alone or over moisturiser. When i first started using it i used it alone and my skin was peeling quite a bit. Now ive been using it on top of my moisturiser. will it still be as effective?

I use it alone before bed and moisturize well when I wake up. My skin *is* drier, but that has meant more moisturizing, which is fine. I'm happy with the results I'm seeing.

I don't combine it with anything because I am afraid that will inhibit effectiveness (I don't know if it really does though), and that's how the doc told me to do it.

I could not use it everyday when I first started (it's one of the stronger prescription strengths), but I can now. However, I am really sensitive to the sun with everyday use, so even a trip to the grocery store with sunblock can bring out some redness where I tend to concentrate the cream around my eyes and forehead.

I think I need to start using an anti-wrinkle product, but I'm acne prone so I can't use something creamy or oily. Is retinol A good for that? What kind should I use?

Retinol is wonderful for those acne red spots, fades them away quicker. I have an everyday spf moisturizer that has retinol in it, & I love it. Not greasy either. It's from ROC, for 20 bucks I got it at my local drug store.

    I think it depends....

I used it for 2 days and ended up peeling and red for a week.

Trial and error basically...if it's too much, you'll know.

Yeah it does make the skin look nice. It's like a skin eraser.

Maybe you can mix it with an spf moisturizer for everyday use. My moisturizer doesn't leave me red at all, & I used it everday. Right now i'm not using it bc i'm using one with a bronzer.

I'm so oily that I have STOPPED using moisturizer except for a cream around my eyes and it's really helped with my break outs - what's a good retinol A that doesn't moisturize?

Most people end up peeling a bit at first. You shouldn't be using it every day to start out with. Start with maybe 2X a week, then slowly move up, or you will burn the fuck out of your skin.

As for a moisturizer, when I have it, I use glycerine (very very tiny amount) and a bit of water, wait 10 min, put on retin a, when I'm out of glycerin I use jojoba oil. Some things, even when using retin a will give me blackheads, but these two never do.

I also use jojoba oil in the morning while my face is still wet, let it dry then use banana boat dri-blok spf 30 over it. This spf dries to REALLY nice matte finnish, and leaves my skin looking great even without makeup. For eyes I use banana boat sport preformance spf55, it's creamier, and fels better in that area.
