    Default 1st time w/mystic tan - disappointed

I got the extra bronze for $3 extra, thinking I might as well go all out if I'm already paying $25 for one session. I figured I'd get what I payed for. WRONG. I did exactly what the girl told me to do, right down to stepping on the "feet" and rotating each time the recording told me to. I barely got any color. I've gotten more color from various types of spray tan that cost $8.99. The only places I really DID get color were the bottoms of my feet and my hands.

    That was 2 days ago...

Today I tried a cheaper version called sun spirit...or something like that, at a different place. It was only $18 or 2 sessions for $24. There was more work involved, including putting on socks/gloves, rubbing in the lotion, BUT the results were much more successful. The stuff was also brown when it went on so you could see where you were applying it and if you needed to apply more.

I've heard great reviews about mystic...so I'm not really sure what happened...

how tan are you to begin with? How is sun spirit comparable to mystic- does it squirt the lotion on you, then you rub in?

Um...I really don't know how to describe how tan I am to begin with. I never really think of myself as that tan, but others have said I am compared to them. I'm Korean, if that says anything (even tho I've seen some really pale Koreans).

Yeah, basically sun spirit squirts lotion on you. It's more work than mystic, but gives me better results. While mystic sprays a fine mist on you...sun spirit just clumps it all out there on you. Honestly, you would be better off, financially, buying the lotion and just putting it on yourself. I've been trying to look for it online, but I can't find it anywhere. Perhaps I did get the name wrong, but I was pretty sure it was sun spirit. I'll look next time I go, which should be soon.

Haha, you could pay me 18 dollars a pop to squirt lotion on you! seems like a rip-off, but if the color is that amazing....

I've had mixed results with mystic, but one thing i like is that it gets my back- i live alone so, that helps. Did you give the tan time to develop?l

I used nature's gate from whole foods last week, and got decent looking results.

I gave the tan at least 24 hours to settle and it still sucked lol.

And you're right...it is a ripoff when you think about it. Then again, I haven't found anything that gives me that good color.

Yeah, the hype makes you think it's a miracle tan or something.

I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to self tanners like sublime bronze, etc... are there any other options like mystic tan etc, or is it all the same chemical?

I am SUPER pale and I've tried mystic tan a couple of times. I had pretty good results. I used a sugar scrub and lotioned up before going and then afterwords I let the mystic tanning solution sit on my skin for about 5-6 hours before I showered. I also always have to remember to bend over a little bit when by backside gets sprayed so I don't get the little crescent moons under my butt LOL! I guess maybe everyones skin accepts the tan a little different. I am sorry it didn't work for you .

the darkest spray tans are airbrushed by a person. they spray you like they would if they were painting a car.

its more expensive (like 40 bucks a session.) but you can ask for multiple layers to get REALLY DARK.

1 coat does the trick but ive done as many as 3 it takes longer for you to dry and dont have any plans for the rest of the day because youll look like a umpa loompa. but if u get it done at night , sleep on it then shower youll have a great dark tan.make sure you have dark sheets and clothes.

ive done the darkest mystic a bunch of times and never had dark results and was always disappointed untill i started this.
