Default Purple, ouchy toe! Sprain? Break?

So today I was cooking and burnt my hand. I jumped and suddenly my second toe on my left foot was cramped up. So yay, pain on two extremities! But the toe pain didn't stop. I went to work, figuring it was a muscle cramp (I'll get those in my fingers and toes from stress), but when I went to check on my ouchy foot a few hours in, there was a purple bruise spreading at the spot where the toes join and a lot of pain on the ball of my foot, when I stood with my stillettos off.

I showed it to the housemom and the manager. He said that it was likely a sprain or I jammed the toe when I jumped and let me go home. I have ice on it and a new bottle of arnica gel. Anything else I should do? Elevate? Go to the doc?

I really need to work this weekend, but I do need my toe more! I have student health care, so I can go to the doc on Monday if I need to.

if it is a sprain youll want to RICE. rest, ice, compress, and elevate. stay off it as much as pssoble. ice for 15-20 min at least 3x a day. wrap it with some ace bandages (comes with instructions). and elevate the injury above your head to promote blood flow. get better soon

I would stay off it this weekend, just let your body be the judge of how you feel...since you have free health care you may as well go in on Monday if it's still f*cked up

Damnit. I was going to go into work tonight and just stay off the feet as much as poss (and wear low heels) but now it's swelling up. Oh well-Saturday night with Xena the Warrior Princess or some sort of documentary on Netflix instead.

I finally have an appt for tomorrow for my toe. The main huge bruise is going away but now I have a new one along the side. I wore low heels to work yesterday which helped but how do I explain to the doc that I HAVE to work and be on my feet instead of saying stripper? Cocktail waitress?

I can do the low heels at my home club, but I doubt at new club when I go to audition. I can't afford to take off work now I already missed a week of work this month b/c of transport issues...Meh.
