Once again, the conservative, sandwich-heavy portfolio pays off for the hungry investor

interesting summary !!!
However keep in mind that the 'global price' of commodity gasoline is actually the same for all of these countries ...
therefore the difference in prices at the pump in various countries depends on how much in subsidies the particular country contributes towards lowering the pump price, or how much in taxes the particular country charges thus raising the pump price. Traditionally, middle eastern and some asian countries have subsidized their gasoline prices to help local industries and low wage workers (although there have been recent moves to reduce these subsidies). Traditionally, western european countries have taxed the hell out of their gasoline prices to discourage consumption. And traditionally, the US has taxed gasoline prices by a small amount.
Yeah, maybe I should have been less terseMy apologies. Thanks for so excellently explaining what I left out.

no need to apologize. However I did feel that the point about the TRUE price of gasoline being almost identical around the world, with any differences in pump prices occurring because the particular gov't is either subsidizing or taxing 'domestic' gasoline sales, needed to be made clear.
