I have my first night this week. I've never danced before, any suggestions? Anything I should know before I go in? Thanks guys.

Omgosh. Congrats to you.
you're so lucky. i hope to
be able to say that soon.
umm just try to be as graceful
in heels as possible..
um.. there's tons of posts all over here with information.
pretty much.. be confident, practice walking around the house in your heels, dont sit with custies for too long for free, and read hustle hut after you're comfortable with the mechanics of it all.
oh and play up the new-ness. they love fresh meat.

I havent done it yet, but I agree play of the newness. If you stumble, have an awkward moment, etc. handle it with grace and charm. Be cute and sweet and charming and even if you fall on your face or something it will come across sexy.
I know this would most likely apply to dancing because I used this technique when I first started as a waitress (a long time ago, I'm no longer a waitress). Let's just say, I was a horrible waitress lol. But I knew how to come across vulnerable and new and make it come across charming. People loved me, and always wanted to help me out "You're doing great sweetie, here's a ten dollar tip". I would make like 40-50 dollars in tips a night because I played the "cute sweet vulnerable clumsy new girl waitress" thing up for weeks.
Tee hee. There is no power like that of a woman who knows what she is doing.![]()
^^^ agreed. Being new gives you a free pass to mess up and not be perfect, and people just think its cute! The staff and the custies etc don't expect you to be a super-stripper because they've seen lots of new girls before you.
Just keep moving around the floor and talking to new guys, and get on stage so people notice you. And practice in your heels before you go in
Oh, and be nice to the waitresses. At my club when guys buy us drinks we make a habit of saying things like "you've got a nice tip for our lovely waitress, right??" and in return the waitresses mention to the guys how incredible your dances are, and ask if they've had a chance to get one etc. Works well!!
You'll be great, after your first hour it'll be like you've always worked there!

I'm so excited for you!

Just be confident and smile.Best of luck!

So I've been playing with the idea of auditioning for a few weeks now, I got the shoes, outfit, etc. And in my head have just been like "I should get my moves down and have a routine for audition" and "I should do a hardcore ab workout every day for a while before I go in"...but at this point, I'm thinking, maybe I just need to pull it off like a bandaid, just get it over with? What do people think? A good idea to just go in with a ton of confidence, instead of giving myself more weeks to feel doubtful and let my insecurities fester? Or, should I listen to my worrisome half and get toned and get my moves down first? I'm ready to just go in tomorrow and give it a go, at this point...
^^ There are threads on here abput auditiong and having routines and such. If you want a routine make one up.. chances are you'll forget it and there will be no point. I say go in and have fun... Getting toned depends on the class of your club. I would prefer to look good and have a tight tummy vs. going in and having the possiblity to be turned down because of sheer laziness...
I was the same before I auditioned; I would always be like "Well I should wait til that other outfit I ordered comes....". Then it would be "well, I should wait til this zit goes away..." and so on. If you genuinely do have a specific reason to put off your audition then thats fine, but if you're just stalling because of nerves, then bite the bullet and just do it!
Everything you're worried about will disappear once you get there, don't worry! I was terrified about auditioning and making sure everything was as perfect as could be, then eventually I just got in the car and went there, and the manager just checked my license and told me where I could find my locker lol!

Thank you! I bit the bullet, auditioned, got the job, and made $174 on my first shiftI did a few sloppy lap dances but also got a lot of interesting comments. Like "you're too pretty to be a dancer" (wtf?!) or "you're too smart to be here, you should find yourself a lawyer or doctor to take care of you." Seems like people expect us to be desperate people who have no skills or options, rather than intelligent and empowered women! Anyway, I was told I have a great body, which made me feel less insecure about my chunky thighs and gigantic ass, and that my 'face would be my true moneymaker.' What a relief! I was pretty terrified but my nerves melted with time. The manager seems like a good guy and the location of the club is great too. I truly would never have gone through with it without the help of this forum!!!!
Go you!!!! Thats awesome to hear, I'm so glad your first night went wellI agree, some guys have the weirdest comments and the most skewed outlook on why people dance. It's like, not every dancer is on crack trying to feed her 10 kids lol! Don't worry about your lapdances, you'll get the hang of it. My first night, my lapdances were god-awful...I almost felt bad for charging haha!
Keep us updated on how it goes for you girl!
The worst part was the anticipation of starting, Your on the right track by coming to SW for advice...I learned SOOOO much just by going to clubs and meeting dancers, they see you, get to know you, then ask questions, tip them for there time...I waited months before my first time, used a bit of ingenuity and researched-oh god, I was just F*ckin scared! But I knew what to do when the time came, I got tossed up for an hour..made 175 bucks. Mostly I think because I like people and socialize, LOTS of eye contact. I constabntly said Im sorry -Im new or later on...just starting(rome wasnt builkt in a day!lol)Guys love that. But I felt so much at ease after I just did it..so make like Nike Girly...Just Do IT,lo
