    Default Wedding Invitations

So Eric and I decided not to do print invitations, for SEVERAL reasons. 1)printed invitations are too overpriced and we'd rather spend our money on the guests having a good time, 2)The ones you print yourselves were of crappy quality 3) We're on a short timeline 4)That's a lot of paper gone to waste.
So, we went with smilebox invitations. They do have a really nice variety (MUCH better than evite) the only problem is that the print was small. I'm linking up to ours ,but I'm not sure it'll work. Plus there are some details missing (LOL, not that I don't LOVE SW, but I
don't need everyone busting in on the wedding parts

So i'm assuming everyone who is invited is internet savvy?
We considered E cards but we had too many old people to invite (his family).
    Congrats
    Invite looks great

Yes they are. In fact smilebox tells you who has viewed your card. Everyone has! It's a very small wedding, only 40 invited, probably 25-30 will show. The only person not internet savvy is my grandmother, and she can't come anyways and wouldn't really care about a card

They look great! I like those WAY better than the fancy, outdated snail mail invites.

Pretty invite! That's cool. I've got too many old folks and traditionalists to consider doing that, too. K and I are printing our own; we found and I think they look really nice.

    Cute!

Unfourtunately, not all of our family is on the internet. Plus with the kind of wedding we were having, I felt printed invites were more appropriate. However, just like you, I found them to be over priced and a complete waste of cash, most people just toss them in the trash so why spend hundreds of $$$ on invites?

I came across they do mostly commercial printing but they have a great selection of invitations and you can even upload your own graphics and images! 100 invitations, enclosure cards, envelopes, RSVP postcards, and 60save the date magnets came to under $100.

Those are really pretty! However, for the purpose of your safety you might want to block your name on it or take the like off.

Sounds good! I llived in my last apt for 2 1/2 years and I was still receiving random people's mail, a lot of wedding invitations came and went and a lot of "return to senders."
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

Didn't I take last names off and location. I meant to. I don't think people would have any idea otherwise.

    Cute dogs!!!!

I think it's a great idea. Regular printed invitations are a total rip off. Like everyone else says, you spend a ton on them and they get thrown away. Bonus: This way, no one can misplace them and forget where they're going.

Thank god traditions are starting to evolve. I won't go on about "etiquette" and its applications and consequences in modern society except to say: don't let anyone give you shit about your choices!

I got shit..I literally told my mom to shut it. She's not paying for my invitations and I don't give a damn if my Great Aunt and Cousin once removed want a paper invitation. I told my mom to tell them if they needed a paper invite then they should pick up a piece of paper and write it down. THey can be the wasteful ones. It's time to evolve and stop cutting down extra trees for pretty wedding paper. I mean, if it's your thing, by all means do it, but it's NOT ours.
Our whole wedding is casual, outdoors, dogs in the wedding, big fire and roasted marshmellows. Oh yeah, and lots of booze. It's supposed to just be a big party with a teeny tiny ceremony. So lay of the invites silly old people!
Sorry for that rant, I just got that call.

What about people you want to invite who don't have internet access, etc.? I have grandparents and older aunts and uncles who don't know the first thing about internet stuff. Could you get a few printed invites (or even handwritten) and send them to your more conservative guests?

Also, I think it would be nice if it had a pic of you and your fiance instead of the dogs. No offense to the dogs, but that's a strange thing to put on a wedding invite.

There is nobody who does not have internet access that is invited to our party. Both of our families are VERY small. We'll be lucky if there are going to be 25 people. The idea was a small wedding.
Everyone in our families are HUGE dog lovers. They know our pets our the world to us. In fact, they're in the wedding! Also, there are NO pictures of the two of us together. He's always taking the pics since he has the photography background.
I've already sent them out and gotten A lot of positive responses! People love the pups on the invite, and are glad we are choosing to be environmentally friendly.
