Default Can dreams predict the future?

So, I'm watching this video for a song called "dreams." The beginning kinda freaks me out and the more I watch it the more I get weirded out, but I'm stupid and I do it anyway. Then it occurs, it reminds me of this dream I once had. I was at a club, drinking but maybe more, and I passed out on the bathroom floor. Nobody knew where I was and I was scared, but my boyfriend came and found me. Just as he was lifting my head off the floor and calling for help in the dream, I woke up. I was sleeping in my own bed and fine. (What a relief!)

Anyway, a few months ago (I just realized I dreamed it before it happened) someone drugged my drink at a concert and then it actually happened!!! Except in real life I woke up in the hospital by myself instead of safe at home. My best friend came and picked me up and everybody was really nice to me but... I shudder just thinking about it.

These nightmares scare me enough when they're only nightmares. Will more of them come true?

Honey pie, I am really sorry that happened to you, but I think that's just a co-in-c-a-dink.

I don't think there is anything crazy powerful or true about most dreams...I think you just had a dream/nightmare and part of it happeened later...

I think that many people dream about the past. A few times people's dreams come true. Im sure you maybe dreamt it cause it is something that happens a lot these days and people are scared of it happening. i think almost every girl fears if they leave their drink down someone will roofie them. Well, i guess i cant speak for every girl.

I have nightmares a lot. But they dont come true thankfully.

    hmmmm.....
I tend to be a believer in these types of things.

did your boyfriend help you in the bathroom at the concert?

because if so, I'd be like-- yeah, seems pretty similar.

otherwise I might call coincidence too.

from theoretical physics we know that Time is a flexible thing, and so I do feel like our brain in some ways can connect with the past and with the future--

but, most of the time we just don't have the capabilities to fully understand or make use of it.

so-- I wouldn't get freaked out about it. Do some research and maybe you learn more about it and maybe learn some useful meditations that make it possible to control your dreams or to gather more information from them.

Mine often do. Could be coincidence but I doubt it . The dreams I've had are eerily similar to events that happen in my life. I had a dream about one of my exes before I met him. When I saw him across a room, I was like , "Holy shit! I had a dream about that guy." My friend still thinks I made it up but what would be the point? Anyway , we dated for 2 years after. I could give you countless other examples but there are too many to list here.
Feel the fear and do it anyway.

    Predict the future? No.

However our brains are very good at recognizing patterns, at making intuitive leaps based on partial information, at exploring possible futures, etc., and yes on top of that coincidence does happen.

Another note which I won't explain except in brief... our brains are far from perfect. They easily hallucinate if their chemistry is mildly altered or out-of-wack. It has been shown time and time again that we are likely to believe our own fictions, rewrite history of what happened, believe in magic, the placebo effect, to see patterns in randomness where there is none, and much more. What we don't have is a built-in perfect monitor to detect and correct these imperfections. We aren't perfect computers with a purely objectives self-monitoring system.

I have had dreams that predicted the future...I am just waiting to dream of winning Lotto numbers!

(PS My late uncle had a dream about a set of winning Keno numbers, but he didn't play them in time- he missed out on winning $25,000...This was in the early 1970s, when that was a lot more money! He never got over it!)
