Default does anyone own these shoes?

    my concerns are:
    1. the ankle strap looks like it will break easily
    2. i can't walk in shoes without straps, but this strap is higher than most of the normal shoes. will they be difficult to walk in because of the strap placement?
    3. is there a shoe very similar to this that you would suggest?

    thnx

as long as you get the right fit, the section of leather cupping the back of your foot should do a lot to keep your shoe on.

also-- with the shoes Bellona suggested, I find that closed toe grips the feet a lot more. Oftentimes, with open toes, the strap over the toes stretches out and we do a lot of gripping with our toe. Obviously you wouldn't be the type to let your toes slide out forming monkey toe (I hate when girls dance like this, with their toes over the edge and gripping the side-- get some new friggin shoes already.) and with the open toe shoe, worst case is that the strap stretches out and you get a food pad to slip in at the bottom of your shoe for the ball of your foot to rest on.

so-- it's kind of a tossup there.

both of the shoes seem sturdy even though the clasp is really high on the ankle. I've had non stripping shoes that had that design and that clasp broke right away. these clasps and straps look thicker and sturdier. However you can always take a ribbon, and wrap it between the heel and the platform, and then criss cross it over your foot and wrap it over your ankle. i've seen some really pretty ribbons done this way.

are you experienced with 8" shoes?

the highest I've danced in has been 7 1/4" and i have to tell you, my knees always hurt from the amount of squatting that our job entails. I have to squat in such a way in those shoes that's different than how I squat in 6" shoes that my knees hurt badly into the next day.

so just be aware of not just the walking and the dancing, but the squatting, and how difficult it may be to take of the shoes (especially if you have fake nails.)

when I first started dancing, there was an experienced dancer who danced in 8" mules. She had this one pair of shoes that she loved, and when she replaced them she would always get the same pair from the manufacturer. so it really is up to your balance and experience.

A few girls from my work wear them and really seem to like them. Just make sure that they fit really well.

these are the shoes i dance in:
i also have the all clear type in 7.5" but they stretched out waaayy too fast

like you said the straps are stretching and im starting to get monkeytoe....which not only looks ridiculous but makes it difficult to dance in. maybe i will try some pads first and see if that helps. i would loooove to get closed toed shoes but my club is always so fuckin hot it just doesnt seem like a good idea. i didnt think about the difference in squating postures. my knees are always sore but i literally am dancing from the moment i walk in the club until i leave. ive never noticed a differnece with my 6"s but i prob wasnt paying attention i think i will wear my 6"s soon and see if it makes a difference. i just hate dancing in them though- its hard to do floorwork... i must dance weird lol.but if my knees wont hurt afterwards then i will be downgrading my heel height from now on

i don't trust pleaser's quality. i'd go for ellie or a different brand... and btw- those look 8" so just make sure you're comfortable dancing in something that high.

I don't have anything useful to add other than those shoes are sexy!
