I might have written about this before, but I don't think it had it's own thread.
anyway, I'm about to attach my little pads to my neck area and thought-- I should tell the girls about this. I borrowed this gizmo from my chiropractor-- it's kind of like this:
you have these four sticky pads that you put in four spots around the point that's bothering you-- like your neck, midback, lowerback-- I'm sure you could use it on your legs, but I haven't tried it except once-- but I'd put on lotion before hand so I had to stop because I couldn't get a good clean transfer.
it basically is electro-therapy where you're able to control how strong the buzz is, and it tells your muscles to stop sending pain signals to your brain-- which is nice, your muscles relax, and in some cases, even several hours later on, your pain level isn't as bad because your muscles aren't all bunched up.
for example, one morning after work I couldn't even move. I felt like a turtle stuck on it's back. So I struggled to get the electrodes placed (funny but sooo painful) and turned it on. After a half hour I could walk around and do stuff, and after an hour I seriously felt like my back had never been sore to begin with.
and even after I stopped using it that day, my muscles, while a little sore, got NOWHERE near as sore as I was that morning.
some units like this (supposedly the more expensive ones) actually help retrain the muscles, but I'm not sure how since that's not an area I've researched.
anyway-- thought it was interesting and definitely useful enough to share.
p.s. I didn't get that exact model-- I just googled a link so that people could see the price range and take a look at it.
