    Default Pole dance question

Last night I installed my pole and I played on it for about 3 hours, I was climbing and posing. I woke up this morning and my inner thighs feel like somebody peeled my skin off.. they effing hurt. It's not my muscles, just my skin. Needless to say, I've been playing on it a little today but doing things that don't require me gripping with my thighs.

How long is it going to take for me to get used to the pain and it becomes no big deal? When will it go away? Is there anything, besides putting arnica on it, that I can do to help?

I'm assuming this pain is the same thing as starting out dancing and my knees always hurt and now I can dance all night and have no problems, I've just gotten used to it.

It'll take a cpl weeks before your skin toughens up and you dont feel it anymore. But it will get better!

Yup CK is right, also the more you feel the pain the quicker it goes away for good. So dont avoid the pain training

Sounds like that would be an issue with the powdercoat. You'll get used to it.

Yeah, I'd say about two weeks. But each time you learn new moves that involve holding on with different parts (i.e. your inner arm) they are sore and bruise, and you have to toughen them up too.

Bruises and skin scuffs are normal with any new pole activity!

If your pole is powdercoated...this problem will get worse as you learn new tricks...I have had students actually rip the skin open on leg hangs!

On the up side....the skin does toughen up!
