My favorite place in Jackson is the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, assuming that it is still there. Around the corner in the Wort Hotel is the Silver Dollar Saloon. Both are great places for drinks and dancing. There is a chair lift ride that goes up the mountain from the Silver King Lodge. Besides the Tetons, Yellowstone is only a few miles north. You don't want to get that close without seeing Old Faithful, do you?
Also in Jackson are two theatres they call opera houses. One does Broadway musicals, the other old melodramas. There is a wild west cowboy shootout on main street at the town square every night. Just like in the movies, the good guy will always win.
If you go to the Cowboy Bar, tell them that you have an online friend (me) whose wife's father made their neon sign of the cowboy riding the bucking horse way back in the thirties. Who knows, it might get you a free drink.

Thanks Mike! I was hoping you'd respond to this thread![]()
I've heard of the Million Dollar Cowboy bar so that's a definite stop, and I'll mention your wife's father...he-he. The chair lift is a must do too!
I'm planning on doing the rugged outdoors for the first two days ( a hike in the Tetons, white water rafting on the Snake River and hopefully Old Faithful ), one day for exploring Jackson and then a spa day to pamper myself and recover. I'm craving the anti-Vegas and this seems just what the doctor ordered!

Bring alot of money. Jackson Hole was soooooooooooo expensive.
You want the Grand Tetons? Since Melonie may not read this thread.

There is a restaurant called Vertical that is in Teton Village. They have off season specials and it's awesome.
