Thumbs up Coconut oil is the bee's knees!

I just rubbed myself down with it in the shower. Yes, my whole body, from my face to my toes. I'm silky all over and it doesn't smell like coconuts at all. Even the Lush Buffy bar doesn't get me this silky! I love this stuff!

Thanks to all who recommended it!

Nice! I wanna try it now. I know this is a silly question, but where can you buy it? A grocery store?

It feels kinda greasy in the shower. But afterwards once you dry off it's a GREAT feeling. The only place I was able to find unexpelled unpressed (which is what you want) was at GNC. I get the solid. If you really need to liquefy it just warm it up. It's melting point is HIGH at about 75 degrees. So it stores well in your house and lasts forever. It also has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. I used it on my dog the other night when he got a small bite. It's healing nicely.

High compared to what? The science nerd in me was like "No, metal have a way higher melting point..."

I think she meant low. 'cause 75 degrees is a low melting point.

I just did this!!! Its great I have the solid coconut oil too and I just leave it on the side of the tub when I take a shower. The hot steamy-ness usually softens it well. It wasn't greasy after the shower at all. Of course in the shower it was a little. I'm definitely going to do this once a week... I'd like to not break out from it so I'm not going to overdo it.

I use it in my hair all the time, and also mixed with epsom salts for a body scrub. It's also good for stir-frying!

OH yeah, I forgot to add. If you use it in the shower, then beware of the next time you shower/bathe. I frequently coats your tub floor and leaves it slippery. Just use caution or clean it afterwards.

Don't be fooled by the smell and the smoothness. Coconut oil is better left for the hair unless you want a body full of acne. Coconut oil is very comedogenic. Believe me I have the breakouts on my face to prove it.Check out this link http://www.soapnuts.com/noncomo.html

Maybe for some, but I use it on my hair daily; brush my teeth 3x daily, and use it on my skin 4-5x a week, and I don't break out from it.

My guess is if you get the cheap crap that is infused with the coconut smell etc. it might cause breakouts. But if you get quality oil I think you should be fine!

whoa, so does that mean i wasted my money on the cold pressed stuff i got at the vitamin shoppe?

    shit.

oh, and i used it on my face out of curiousity and i broke out terribly, so i'm guessing it's not for me. i use olive oil to remove my makeup with no problems, though.

No pimples here... I'll keep it off my face from now on though. I got organic raw cold-pressed oil, $5.99 for a big jar of it at the co-op. Oh, and I didn't have to put deodorant on my kitty after shaving for once! It's nice and smooth with no razor burn at all!

I broke out between my tits after using it after a shower, but otherwise my body felt wonderful. It probably depends on how prone you are to breakouts in the first place.

I've been using pure fiji products for a couple of years now and I LOVE them. The main ingredient is virgin coconut oil. It's good stuff. I highly recommend the sugar scrub.

Olive oil to remove makeup?! I have NEVER heard of that!

And what is the purpose of coconut oil exactly? Smoothness- A substitute for lotion? What else?
