You definitely don't need a breadmaker to make bread! It just is a little more involved because you actually have to make the bread instead of letting the machine do all the work.

The only trouble with rice flour-based breads is that they tend to be delicate and can fall apart which is why you need some sort of stabilizer (pectin, gelatin, xantham gum) or mix it with other flours.

I think Yek said she made it with actual rice..not rice flour. I could be mistaken though. I"m sure if you google rice flour bread you'll get a ton of recipes

Oh really? I've never heard of actual rice-bread. Rice crackers yes... hmmm. That's interesting!

LOL, sorry, I just saw this! Mine has wheat flour in it (as well as brown rice, oats, and polenta) so it's a no-go on your diet. You don't need a bread machine to make bread but it REALLY helps. I like to let the bread machine make my dough for me, and then I just pull it out and shape it and bake it in the oven. The bread machine will bake it for you too, I just hate the shape of the loaves (large and square).

I've never made bread with rice flour but I don't see any reason why you couldn't. I'd start with recipes based on rice flour and then see if I could substitute rice flour for wheat in other recipes.
