    Default Should Dayshift Be Eliminated?

Now that there are so many strip clubs here in Las Vegas (and more on the way), do you think dayshift should be eliminated? Before the stripclub explosion, CHToo, OGs and Cheetahs were known to be busy during the day but traditionally, nights have always been the busiest. Just a few years ago, a lot of us enjoyed starting our Fridays early since it meant twice as much money. It was great being able to go in at 3pm and have $700 or more by 11pm and just keep going until whenever. These days most clubs are dead during the day so one has to wonder if its necessary for clubs to even have a dayshift. What do you think?

It all depends on your location. My club gets packed on days, so for here I would say no.

that's like asking if Mexican restaurants should be eliminated because you don't like them. I don't like day shift either, so I don't work it.

if there are people that do like it and there is some profitability for the people working it (and if there's not, how does that affect you?), then what's the problem?

Besides, of there was no day shift, when would all the day girls work? Your beloved night shift!

every dollar that a dancer takes home when she leaves is a dollar that a customer had to bring into the club to spend. While day shifts may not be as busy as nights, and while the amount of extra dollars brought into the club during the day may be less as well, consider the flip side.

If there is no day shift, some customers who would have come in during the day will NOT come in at night, which reduces the total number of dollars being brought into the club. If there is no day shift, some dancers currently working days will instead attempt to work nights. This will either A. reduce night shift dancer earnings across the board by forcing X number of customer dollars to be divided into more 'slices', or will reduce the number of dancers allowed to work nights if the clubs enforce scheduling limits to avoid 'overcrowding'.

Lately, it's been a crap shoot period, day or night.

But there are times you can come out on top and other times you could have stayed home sleep. It's not like it use to be.

Working earlier in the day was a goldmine, but now it's a flickering candle that's constantly blowing out, unless you have regulars...

There ya go, and those folks are my "type." Even though the club is not packed at these times, there's enough of a stream where I can do well *for me* without major stress or rudeness so that my fatigue is not awful by the time I leave. In fact, I've often wondered what my club would attract if it opened around 1 pm for lunch.

the dayshift at my club used to be REALLY good (we had a nice catered lunch buffet, with applebee's twice a week and famous dave's fridays, and there were always people with money, whether it was construction workers who couldn't work because it was raining or businessmen on their lunch break) but it's been dead for awhile now and it just got the ax. it sucks. some employees had to be let go and the 6 or 7 girls that danced for the dayshift are now dancing nights and everyone has to work at least 3 shifts a week, so the nightshifts are completely full, with 8-10 girls working sun-thurs nights when there used to be only 5 or 6. it's frustrating and definitely going to take some getting used to.

Eliminating the day shift would not automatically make the night shift attendance any higher...

The guys that come in during the day shift are a very specific bunch at my club. Guys with money, who are generally their own bosses, come in during the day when their wives think they're at work. They always spend a great deal of money. Our day shift is 70% regulars. I love the day shift. I'm not really a lap-hopper, and thats the scene at my club at night.

I'm gonna go ahead, put my neck out and say for most clubs, yes. There obviously are places that do good during the day in Vegas but I think they are the smaller clubs. I don't have much to base my answer on except my own experiences in Vegas.....alot of the big mega clubs, like Scores, are ghost-towns during the day.
What sucks too is they always want to make you work days when you're new.

I work dayshifts and even though they are slower and I don't make as much money as the night girls, I so much prefer it. I like the slower hustle and it's more relaxed. I would go insane if clubs didn't have a dayshift because I hate the night crowd.

Obviously girls are making money dayshifts because if they weren't, they wouldn't be working them.

^^^ Same here. I like day shift because I like to work in the day and sleep at night like everybody else. I HATE going to bed in the morning when I know I should be getting up instead! And the night crowd pisses me off. I hate the vibe in the club at night and would much rather work a relaxed hustle with businessmen who actually have money and are in the club for the strippers, instead of kids hanging out impressing their friends with how cheap they can be. Yay for the dayshift over here.

Eliminated? Nah. Dayshifts are fine as long as I don't have to work them! I hate working day shifts with a fiery passion.

I've always been a fan of dayshifts. Some of the best customers come in during their lunchbreak or when they get a chance to sneak off from wife/family.

I like them myself but I may personally be eliminating them (only from my own schedule) for the first couple weeks of nice weather. I'm in OR so people kind of go batshit when they finally see the sun.

As long as the club and dancers are what they feel is acceptable making money I see no earthly reason to close down a dayshift. Why screw the day girls out of their shifts? Makes no sense to me at all. Sorry.

I would say for my club, no. There seems to be a decent number of girls who work it, and even though I've never worked it, they probably make something if they are working it. The dayshift seems to completely suck ASS when the weather gets nice, and seems pretty decent in the winter months.

Thank you so much for pointing this out, CherryBomb! I'm not trying to imply that I don't want the dayshift girls to make money. The problem is some clubs in Vegas are truly ghost towns during the day and its not fair for the girls to sit on their hands with nothing to do for hours until customers finally start to come in. Its always been a fact that when the weather is warm, business slows down especially during the day. Perhaps I should have asked if dayshift should be eliminated during the summer. It would be nice though if happy hour wasn't such a thing of the past so business men would crowd in after work. Now with gas being so high and all, everyone is trying to cut back and that causes dancers to suffer financially as well.

Unfortunately it seems like here, dayshift is extras-time. So I'd love to see it eliminated. I think we'd have to eliminate night shift, too though.

I used to work dayshift at home(always nights when I travel though..yeah screws up my inner clock BAD,but theres more money on night shifts for traveling dancers).

I used to love it..I had regulars and the club wasnt busy, but we had a steady stream of business guys who didnt try BS like getting your number and spent decent money.

Then it all went to hell. Nowadays I'd be surprised if there are more then 5 guys all day in the club...no money and girls seem to just want to hang out and drink.I wonder how they can afford to stay open during the day...

I'm a night shift girl all the way. I do occasionally work a random dayshift just to get out of the house, and make a little money while my husband is at work so we can spend more time together in the evenings. That being said, I have run into so many people that refuse to come into a SC at night. I'd have to say no, because I think some girls are also just better suited for dayshift and that would put them out of a job. Or, it would cause them to work nights with me and that's more competition.

I think dayshifts should only be eliminated in clubs where it's super dead more often than not during the day and most girls are not making enough of a profit. I've worked in cities that have a decent dayshift, and some girls prefer to work days for various reasons (children, school schedule, etc.)As was mentioned earlier, if dayshifts were eliminated, all the dayshift girls who want to continue dancing would have to work nights, making more competition for nightshift girls. Plus it's tough for some customers to come to the club at night due to a nagging wife, family obligations, etc. For some guys, it's much easier for them to pop in the club during their lunch break, get a couple dances, and leave, and their wives are none the wiser.

Where I live, most clubs are not busy enough to have a dayshift and a nightshift. Most clubs here have one long shift that all dancers must work-usually 3 pm to 2 am or 4 pm to 2 am. In these clubs, I would like it a lot better if they didn't open until 7 pm. Very few, if any, customers come in before 7 pm, and it's pointless to open so early because the dancers just sit around doing nothing for 3 or 4 hours.

Yeah, so I don't have to hear "you can start anytime, but you have to work dayshift for awhile first". Um, why would I want to come in and make $5 a day for several months? It's that bad here.
