    Default Eybrow sculpting

I am thinking about going to a eyebrow sculpting Specialist, has anyone had this kind of treatment before? I have read that the whole process takes an hour and cost between $50-$100 a treatment.

I am curious to see if its better then a normal eyebrow wax, I read in some magazine that its as good as a face lift (I doubt that *lol*).

Also could any of you (Melbourne girls) recommend one thats good??
    Thx!

It might be better but it all depends on the talent in your area to begin with. I love my threader from India. She's the best when it comes to shaping nad I won't see anyone else. Some people charge a few hundred for their waxing skills but my lady's skills are definitely on par with theirs and she charges $7.

I'd hunt around for a threader from India first. I've found Americans to shape brows oddly (too round/thin and don't complement face and eye shape) in my experience. If you even think about it, in Indian artwork - they give a lot of emphasis to the eyes. I'd trust an Egyption threader too matter of fact!

I don't have any pics! sorry. But you know what I mean by that round thin look. Walk through any mall and you'll see it.

I had a horrible threading experience. Horrible. She took off the last one-forth of my eyebrow, and shaped my eyebrows like this: _ _

I'd love to know how someone can spend that much time on eyebrows. What exactly is involved in this? It had better have a happy ending!

Oh I want to know too!! (In Melbourne as well) I wonder if we have indian threaders here?? I saw that before on here and it looks cool. I guess one of the more ethnic suburbs might... Like maybe on Sydney Road somewhere???

The only time I got someone to do my eyebrows I looked stupid. SO I just pluck the strays and bemoaning my lack of shape ever since. I need help!!!

I used to go to the mall to get my eyebrows threaded. Our walmart has a shop in it now. They do an excellent job. Some places want to rush you in and out and don't care what kind of job they do. I prefer the threading over waxing or plucking anyday. I wouldn't even consider shaving them. My eyebrows look like they were done by a sculpting specialist (I guess they really were) but not for that much money. Only costs $7 for me also, it's worth way more than that.

It said in the magazine that first they consult you and ask you what look you like and if it will suit your face then they tint the eyebrow, wax, pluck, trim any stray hairs and finally cover the red underneath with concealer. I am not sure that that would take a whole hour? perhaps the tint takes ages?

I don't like the thin eyebrow look on myself it doesn't suit me at all.

I had my eyebrows threaded today for the first time. I will never go back to waxing again!

My brows look amazing. She gave me a high arch and a nice thin shape. It was only $15!!!

I reccommend waxing, only for one reason: at least in my experience, if you do it consistently, the little buggers stop growing back!

I had "bushier" eyebrows, so when I as like 12 my mom started taking me to get them waxed. ( I know that sounds really young but my ma was a model and she is all up on the physical beauty stuff lol).

Anyway, I got them done once every three weeks...by the time I was 16 I was doing once every two months...and by the time I was 18 or 19, I didn't have to go anymore at all. Still don't. I occassionaly get one or two out of place hairs, but those you just pluck. My eyebrows are a nice shape now, and nobody would have ever been the wiiser that they were once big gross bushy brows!!

    12fucking3!

I am a total believer in the shave-off-draw-on look. It all started with being emo and it just kinda stayed, lol. Yeah, I get a fair number of sharpie jokes, but I'm cool with it.

I'm a wuss when it comes to hair-removal pain. I had my eyebrows waxed once and was like, "Fuck that...somebody pass me the razor!"

And yes I'm aware that's a common emo refrain, lol.

It sounds like a waste of money. As an esthetician, I know how to do all that (tint, shape an eyebrow to the face structure) and don't charge that much. Unless they have been through some special training or something, I really don't see the difference between that and what a regular, good, eyebrow waxer would do.

Ditto on the bump. I don't see how threading could be any better than waxing so long as the person knew what they were doing, but I'm tempted to try it out.

I think I'm going to try out threading when I'm due for brow maintenance. Since my skin is rather dark, there's a really obvious pale/hairless area above my brows for a while after waxing. Bleah.

I def want to try threading, mainly because its a bit at a time, I reckon its more accurate then waxing, or maybe the waxist I went to was just crap I've tried so hard to find someone in melbourne but I think I am going to have to bail up some ethnic lady and ask her...

Nah just go to a good salon and there should be an option between tidy up and sculpting and should cost no where near that amount! that's a rip off.
