    Starting a waitressing job

So I'm going to be working at a Deja Vu Strip club, and they don't serve alcohol here. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips or info on what its like to waitress at a strip club. I was told you can make really good money, but I find that a little hard to believe when all you're serving is 7up... I was also told that you are more like a hostess, seating people and helping them with anything they need (getting lapdances from a dancer, etc.) I have no idea what to expect so any information would be great! Also, are the waitresses expected to dress slutty or are they dressed more modestly?

Um yeah i did the cocktailing and it totally sucked. just my experience. the guys were very grabby and i wasnt getting paid for it!

as for attire, i wore a red bustier(they supplied it) and was told to wear a black skirt or booty shorts. Shoes had to be either 3+inch heels or knee/thigh boots.
    Every club is different tho.

So the pay was shitty? Damn.. The girl I talked to said it was good, and she wasn't especially attractive or anything.

The waitresses in my club make pretty good money... Each girl has to tip out at least 15... so they walk away with 90$ min. It's up to you... It would be a great gateway into dancing if thats what your interested in...

I waitressed at a couple places - one was great the other not so great. It depends on the club, customers, etc. I did, however, make more at the not-so-good club then I made waitressing at Denny's. It's a nice change of pace.

Bartending, IMO, is where the best money is next to dancing.

you should go into the club and see what the other waitresses are wearing. it all depends on the club. i've worked at a couple of deja vu clubs. at one of the clubs the girls pretty much wore whatever (i.e. shorts/jeans & a cute top). at another club the girls typically wore dresses.

When I waitressed, we had to wear lingerie (nighties, bras and hot pants, etc)

I made great money, but I did champagne rooms. Once you see how much more the dancers are earning, it will be hard for you not to want to dance though!

At the club where I want to waitress you wear casual attire but the more skin you show the more money you get.
I think it depends on the club.

And sometimes they had to wear bikinis, school girl outfits or whatever theme the club felt like at the moment. They get more shit from management and custys than the dancers do.

I was an SC waitress for about 6 months. In tips, I averaged about $60 a night on Sunday - Wed. , around $70 TH, and between $100-$300 on weekends usually around $150. This is in Utah and we had a small base pay too. So ... basically ... the money isn't very good. You can probably make more working in a high end restaurant. But .... that's just my experience. There are other clubs / possibly better earning potential elsewhere. We also made a little bit from dancing on these little boxes during a few songs throughout the night.

I was scared of the dancers , so I probably would have made better money if I would have known to help them find good customers / do more for them. Keep in mind my that this is 6 years ago so my figures above might also be a little low because of lower drink prices ect.

Oh .... and we had to sell shit occasionally too which just sucked.

I bet my averages are pretty close to what SC waitresses average. Even waitresses have regualars - it's funny. I would have a few people come in, visit, tip me well ect.

So yeah .... what I did was get established at the club ... and then told them that my school schedule would not allow any of the Sun. - Thurs. because I had to wake up early for classes Monday - Thursday. It wasn't fair to let me work only Th. , Fri. , Sat. , so we agreed to Th. / Sat.

Even making $200-$280 a week worked because I was in school full time and I was only doing 2 shifts so the club was not taking a lot of time. At the time , I had no work experience ( I was 21 ) , so my potential to earn money in other ways was pretty much maxed out at maybe $10 an hour , so I felt like I was coming out ahead / did the right thing.

I actually made more later at a regular club by becoming a good bartender.

Anyway .... hope that helped. I just don't see the point in you taking the time to do this unless you have some kind of acurate idea what you might make. You'll probably need to do at least 10 shifts to see what you earning potential is.
