    Default Bruises Bruises everywhere!

I just started dancing about a week ago. My knees are like one giant bruise from being on stage, then I have speckled bruises on my thighs and calves from pole tricks. Someone suggested I am anemic...I just started wearing socks to cover them up. Will I ever stop bruising so easily?

I've been dancing for two years and still get them. Fake tans help and Arnica is your friend.

I don't get bruises from dancing anymore. My knees used to bruise really bad, and I would get bruises up and down my shins. I think a combo of knowing how to avoid bruising (like properly performing pole tricks, for example) along with your body getting used to what you're doing will help to reduce bruising down the road. Oh, and make sure you're taking your vitamins and drinking enough water, of course.

We've got a couple of good bruise threads around here so check those out. Arnica is good, also try adding an iron supplement to your diet.

I still bruise pretty easily but I only dance two nights a week . I wear knee socks or thigh highs when I am really sore because it helps you slide around more easily. Also sally hansen leg make up is a god send for covering up brusies.

I used to bruise like mad from pole tricks but my body is used to it now so unless I spend awhile without working out on my pole I don't them anymore. Even when I do they are nothing compared to what they used to be. Point being your body will likely adjust.
