    Default Probiotics ect..

    Is there such a thing as too much of a good thing? i am trying to drink a cup of kefir and eat a yogurt and a dannon immunity boost a day. Any chance of overdoing it? Can I use more? Thanks.
    Oh yeah. Trying to combat bv. I did put garlic up there and seemed to help,but I want to ward it off at the start.

    I take herbs (black walnut hulls and bitters) and a probiotic. Easier, zero sugar to feed the culprits and highly effective. And no extra eating which is nice.

    i actually take a probiotic pill every day, it has way more good bacteria in it then yogurt. its only 15 bucks at gnc. comes in a blue bottle. it cured my ibs and keeps the yeasties away. its good for dogs too, my dog had a yeast infection in her ear (apparently somewhat common) and i gave her one a day and it went away.

    You should check out variations of Candida diets- which reduce your sugar intake - among other things- and control out-of-control yeast production in your body.

    I think probiotics are incredddibllllle for a number of reasons. As we age our enzyme production takes a steep dip at around 25-26 and then drops off at about 30. Enzymes - present in living foods- help keep us young.
    I have heard of tempeh (fermented soy- not anywhere as bad as this sounds!) can cause some people trouble, and aside from people with immune deficiencies (like being HIV+) I can't think of a reason why too much probiotics could be bad...
    It is hard to guarantee the quality of probiotics in pill form, and the amount that are viable - or are still 'alive' when they finally make it into your system. I make my own Kombucha, eat soy yogurt and tempeh.... yum. If you can get used to it , try GTs bottled Kombucha- really tasty and it has a lot of other health and beauty benefits.

    2 more things- I have found that coffee generally wipes out the enzyme (good) activity in your digestive tract. Supplementing your diet with PBs can help counteract this.
    And- the garlic up the twat really does work- its a powerful antibiotic. If straight up sticking a peeled garlic clove up there is too intense, I have read and tried nicking it lightly one 1 or both sides, wrapping it in a little gauze and then, ... you know.
