can u get pregnant on your period??? sorry for the blunt question...
You can, but it's less likely. You should still use protection.
yes you can.
fuck... im not a dumb bitch.. but i did something really dumb..
i thought it was nearly impossible.
Nope. It is pretty unlikely. If you've had unprotected sex in the last 72 hours, you can still take the morning-after pill. See a pharmacist or call your local Planned Parenthood.
BTW, you're MORE likely to pick up STD's while menstruating. If this wasn't part of a mutually monogamous relationship with someone you know to be disease-free, then you should get tested for STD's as well.
yes go get the morning after pill...
picking up std's my ass.. nothing like that.. geezus.
sorry if im being bitchy but yek's post kind caught me off guard.. im not a whore who goes around banging randoms and thats what the post implied... carry on.
Just because you have had sex with more then one guy or are not monogamous doesnt mean you are a whore...WTF? We have no idea of knowing the situation..this could be a brand new guy you dont know much about or whatever...dont get so defensive..it was an honest concern.
If you can take the morning after pill...if you've skipped a period call your Dr for a test.
you can. I conceived the day before I was supposed to get my period. I calculated when I conceived based on how far the ultrasound said I was, and to my surprise, I wasn't as far along as I thought I was, and I had gotten pregnant literally the day before I was supposed to get my period.
so you can... i'm living proof of it.
edit: I still don't understand how it works, because I thought that you ovulate on approx. day 14, and if you have sex 5 days before or after the sperm can still survive to fertilize the egg, so after approx day 19 you're safe... but my luteal phase must have been messed up or something.
I apologize for being a bitch.. ive had a long and rough night and i'm in a bad mood all together..

^^ I don't think that was Yek's intentions at all. She was just trying to be helpful. We don't think you're a whore
And as far as getting pregnant on your period, the odds are VERY slim. And it's only possible if you are pumped full of some super sperm who refuse to die, and you have an abnormally short cycle. As long as you don't have sporadic, periods that are less then two or three weeks apart, I wouldn't worry.
I've been there too. In the heat of the moment, I thought, "I'm on my period, I can't get pregnant," and the idea of him cumming inside me was really hot. Then afterwards, of course, I was freaking out. (and I didn't get pregnant, btw)
Yup, plenty of people wind up with STD's even if they didn't get paid.
Everyone stands some chance of catching an STD at some point unless they're completely celibate (though even they can be raped or infected some other way). Unprotected sex increases the risk and I didn't know whether you were in a previously-tested mutually monogamous relationship or not, so I just thought I'd share the information. Just trying to help.
My best friend just had a baby boy 3 months ago. When was he conceived? Day two of her period. Before that, she and her guy hadn't done it in over a month, afterwards, they didn't do it again... and then she found out she was preggers.

Off topic congragulations on your weight loss and what's your secret? LOL
On topic....
Seriously?? Glad you guys told me that, I always thought that was a "safe" time to do it...eeek!! I don't really get it tho, how can you ovulate and have your period at the same time
^ if you have a really short luteal phase, and you ovulate really close to your period, and the egg hasn't died yet and the sperm gets a chance... maybe that's it?? i have no idea.
or.... sperm can live in your body for up to seven days... so if you have sex on day 5 of your cycle (fifth day of bleeding) and you already have a short cycle (ovulating day 12-14), then when you ovulate 7 days later if the sperm is still alive, you could get pregnant.
pretty much, you can get pregnant any time in any way so ... to be 100 percent safe I am getting an IUD and leaving it in until i'm 30!! well.. maybe not 30- but you get the point.
^^
Yeah, I'm currently using the pull out method of birth control and just plain not doing it around the halfway point in my cycle, which I know is stupid as hell. I need to stop dammit!
Maybe I can't get pregnant, I've done this on and off for years and never had an issue...sigh....but I really dont want to find out the hard way..
yeah.. that's what i did too. withdrawal "method" a day before my period. talk about bad luck. I THOUGHT the day i got pregnant is when my bf "forgot" to pull out 2 weeks prior, but it turns out, it's impossible based on the U/S that we conceived that day.
just get an IUD!! they make them with no hormones, and as long as you have a monogomous std-free partner, it's 99.99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy.
Some people ovulate while menstrauting. Yes, it's rare, but it CAN happen. To the OP best of luck in whatever comes of this!

When I had a conversation w/ this girl nurse lady at Planned Parenthood she gave me a speech entailing that you can always get pregnant unless you're already pregnant. "And even then who knows?!" I think she was just shocked that I wasn't aware that pre-cum can be sperminating (I still don't believe it), so she may have been exaggerating, but I think it's a definite possibility, albeit a slight one.
