Default Why can't I stop feeling hungry?

So aside from the bulimia (which I haven't had for 4 days...YAY!) Why on EARTH can't I feel normal. I am ALWAYS hungery! I eat, feel fine for 20 minutes then I'm hungry again. I'm getting enough calories, eating healthy usually filling meals and all i want to do is keep eating. I have increased my activity level and started diet pills, but this is ridiculous. E looks at me like when I tell him I'm hungry. It's not even just hunger, it's stomach pain starvation. It's almost ALWAYS about 30 minutes after eating, and only goes away after eating again. Something medical I should be concerned about? Aside from feeling hungry all else feels normal.

there's a couple of members on SW that have similar problems from what I've picked up so someone should be able to jump on here.

I always say research parasites first when it comes to unusual eating habits starting all of a sudden. also-- what are you eating? whole grains?

I know that I had a lot of help with drinking the cayenne drinks because cayenne curbs hunger pain, but that's a short term fix. you need to figure out what's causing this.

maybe your body is just swinging the other way for a short while trying to equalize???

I eat whole wheats/grains. I don't eat much processed food in my everyday life. Lots of kefir, fresh granola, fruits, veggies occaisonal wheat pasta, oatmeal with cinnamon etc.

I'm wondering about celiac disease. I'll talk to my dr when I get home. I have many of those symptoms. I don't think it's a parasite only because I'm def. not loosing any weight.

    1. Where's the protein? You blood sugar is soaring and crashing I'm guessing by the foods you listed.

    2. I'd definitely drop all the wheat. Since you're still eating gluten, you can have your md check for it. Or just eliminate it for a while and see if you feel better overall.

Ooops I forgot that I have protein with almost every meal
Chicken, ground turkey, lean roasts, soy protein powder, and tofu. Sometimes I miss protein, but usually I get it.

It it really hunger or something that feels like hunger pangs? The reason I ask is that sometimes symptoms of an ulcer feel almost exactly like hunger pangs.

I think it's hunger and here's why. It starts a little like I'm hungry and just gets worse. It starts to happen after 20-30 minutes and the pain is within an hour. So it's not an instant pain, and if goes away if I eat something.

^^I'd look into it. But from everyone I've talked to I'd be loosing weight. Still not ruling it out though. Def. the first thing I thought though.

I don't mean to be too personal but you did mention bulemia,so sorry if I am overstepping my bounds...

When you have bulemic episodes, (PM me if you want) how much do you normally eat? If you really go at it binging wise, I would assume that your stomach was stretched out from the binges and that your body was just adjusting to the change...if you still feel like this in maybe three or four weeks, I would worry but your body does tons of WEIRD shit when recovering from an ED

When I was first recovering from my ED (ana, but towards the end of ana I had ana with bulemic tendencies...I would binge (prolly like 2000 cals at a time) and then not eat for a couple days...lovely huh lol) once I was committed to recovery, and forcing myself to eat...by the time I hit 100 lbs I found I was STARVING all the time ... like starving starving starving hungry...

My calorie count in my binges were around 1300 calories or less. That was also usually crammed into small sugary things, or chips. That can happen 3-4 times a day on a bad day. Like I said though it's been a few days. So I'm not sure if my stomach is stretched, but that may be the problem.
And don't worry, you aren't over stepping your boundaries. I'm not too easily offended, and if I didn't want it considered then I wouldn't have brought it up.

Gotcha. Even tho that's not a huge amount of calories, if you were doing it 3-4 times a day I think it might still be ED related. Like maybe your body is doing the same thing mine was like "holy shit I can haz food?! More more more more more!!"

yeah, but if you're eating ALL the time, some food has to get through to your body. I mean even the little parasites have to get full sometimes.
or maybe you're just living off their poop. how many calories does parasite poop have anyways?

yeah, I would agree with this. Wait a couple weeks and it should stabalize pretty quickly in that time period.

if not-- go to a doc. and maybe try the celiac's diet anyways. couldn't hurt.

and if you look into parasite cleanses, I favor humaworm.com

Actually, that sounds very much like reactive hypoglycemia, which CAN be triggered by binge eating.

If you're already getting a decent amount of protein, I'd suggest eating more saturated fat especially from vegetables -- coconut oil/coconut milk, avocados, nuts -- and cutting out carbs almost entirely for a few days at least until things settle out.

If that doesn't help, yeah, then check out what else might be going on with your stomach.

Sometimes I think my appetite is in my head. Are you actually hungry, or do you just have an insatiable appetite? Actual hunger is grumbling tummy. Appetite is 'I just ate a little while ago, but I want more food...can't stop thinking about food'. When I run into appetite overdrive, I remind myself that I only need three meals a day, with two little snacks. That's enough, and I try to regulate. I think eating whenever I feel like it can lead to bad habits of not eating for almost all day, then eating way too much all at once.

The blood sugar can soar and crash, so sometimes you have to think logically, and say 'am I really hungry? or do I just want food?'. If it's an appetite thing, try to eat according to a regular schedule, sit down for actual meals, and eat without distraction so your unconscious registers being 'fed', as it were. Then if you wanna eat an hour later, have a glass of water, and remind yourself, 'not hungry'. I doubt it's a parasite if you're not losing weight, but it never hurts to see a doctor.

It's definately hunger. I'm used to the appetite thing as well, but there is pain and grumbing (stomach movement) a majority of the time.
