When I run into appetite overdrive, I remind myself that I only need three meals a day, with two little snacks. That's enough, and I try to regulate. I think eating whenever I feel like it can lead to bad habits of not eating for almost all day, then eating way too much all at once.
The blood sugar can soar and crash, so sometimes you have to think logically, and say 'am I really hungry? or do I just want food?'. If it's an appetite thing, try to eat according to a regular schedule, sit down for actual meals, and eat without distraction so your unconscious registers being 'fed', as it were. Then if you wanna eat an hour later, have a glass of water, and remind yourself, 'not hungry'. I doubt it's a parasite if you're not losing weight, but it never hurts to see a doctor.
