I worked there. It was a fun job, and easy money but I ended up getting fired because a customer asked me for some crab crackers since they didn't put any on her plate with the food, so I went to the back to check and there weren't any clean. I told her that there were some being washed at the moment (after I asked the guy to do it) and apparently I wasn't supposed to tell her that.

Also, when I served her iced tea, there was a bit of straw wrapper in the glass (which I got from the clean glass area) which had nothing to do with me and I got fired that day because they complained about that stuff. To this day, I feel it was incredibly unfair.. obviously the dishwashers weren't paying attention that day and I got fired over it. Eh, it was fun while it lasted though.. but I'd rather be a stripper

I don't know anyone that owns/ runs a hooters, but they are yesterdays news.

I do know an Applebees one, though. My sister [a professional (corporate)] has been a waitress since she was 17/18ish and still works a few days per week. She does well.

How about an upscale cigar lounge.

I looked at your post started history and see you are 'out'. Are you looking for another career path? A lot of people don't see all the skills they have. You have 'sales' and 'people' skills. Look in the paper on Sunday, and you can find car sales jobs (with no experience). I know, it's a dirty job, but there are good people in it. Or even other type sales. A friend left teaching for an outside sales/ representative position (roofing supplies). She's blonde.

    Just a thought.

I worked there in high school. I liked it, the money was easy and I didn't have to work all that hard. I had to quit because I was working two other jobs as well and Hooters was the furthest away from my house.

I hated those fucking pantyhose and socks though.

Thanks guys! I'm not really looking for a sales position since I want a paycheck ...commission only isnt going to help me right now.

I'm out as far as I dont ever want to dance here again...but I'm not 100% retired as I still plan on traveling a bit for another year or so to dance.

And Ginger..the pantyhose were a plus for me..it'll suck in my fat and hide my cellulite!!LOL

I bet with your hustling skills gained from the clubs you might be able to snag some of those big regulars in a Hooter's environment.

You should let me know if you decide to work at Hooters and which one. I love going there but for some reason, I always get idiots who serve me, so I'd come and support you. I've thought about working there myself but I hate waitressing. I only lasted two weeks when I did it before I just stopped showing up. Have you thought about working at the casino as a cocktail server? I heard those girls make good money.

Increased number of stores will also increase revenue. Yes, they are not going out of business anytime soon, but they are also a private company so they don't have to disclose finances to the public.

The half dozen or so locations I've been to since the mid/late 80's do not have the traffic they had even a decade ago. We have more and better options today.

i loved working at hooters. i worked there 8 months before i danced and it was so much fun. NOT stripper money, thats for sure. my avg was around 1-200 a shift. i worked at the top ranked store 8 years in a row in that division. it was in the inner harbor and got tons of business in the summer.

i did get lucky and get some cool gys though.. i had some regulars who would tip insanely no matter what.. one guy gave me $100 tip if he ordered $15 worth of food or was paying for everyone and it was $70. but he always tipped a hundred. another guy told me if i remembered his name, he'd tip me a hundred. i did, and he did.

theyre ASSHOLES about calling out though. i had to work with food poisoning bc they wouldnt let me call out. the day i quit. i walked out bc i had a fever, a sore throat, no voice, and i got in a huge fight with the manager over the fact that i had worked 6 days a week for 8 months there and NEVER missed a shift, but it was bullshit they expected me to work like that.

also, keep in mind corporate and franchise are different. slightly diff uniforms and the rules are a lot different.

Yes, and that would also refute the idea they're yesterday's news.

What? I thought you had personal access to the books. You mean you don't know any more than I do? Shocker.

Six or seven out of 400 some. There's a representative example. And say, if you're hanging out at those venues enough these days to give us a business report, shouldn't you take your own advice and move on?

Like what? Lap dances? Online porn? The relevant issue for this thread is whether or not a Hooters waitress can make better money than the average waitress, not what options you find more stimulating to your senses.

i haaaated it! it sucked so hard. you come home covered in wing sauce and with way little money for the amount of work you put in.

i would never trade stripping for hooters.

i remember when i worked there a manager was talking to me about girls leaving for stripping. "im glad they go, we dont need girls like that"

HA more like we dont need assholes like u!

^ everyone doesnt hate it. like i said, i absolutely loved working there. it was so much fun for me.

many people feel that way about strippers, it isnt just managers of hooters. and thats a pretty big generalization, to imply everyone would be like that. kind of the way people generalize about strippers. ironic, huh?

all i'm saying is that the managers of a lot of places would say they dont need girls who would rather leave to go strip. just as the managers of strip clubs may say they dont need girls who choose to escort/prostitute themselves and theyre glad they quit the club. honestly, i dont think its that horrible a statement to make. most managers would think that someone who leaves whatever company to go work elsewhere, regardless of where it is, is someone they dont need, because obviously they think their place of employment is the best.

When I worked at hooters I made about $100-$200 a shift as well. It was fun but a major pain in the ass some days. It was weird because some guys thought it supposed to be more sexy or whatever. Like they want you to sit on their lap and let them slap your ass and shit....so that pissed me off. A lot of families go there now so nothing too crazy happens. It wasn't bad but just too much effort for too little money for me. It could be fun to do for a while though.

Let me discuss this from the guy's viewpoint. I visited Hooter's the first time because of the reputation of the girls. I am not a sports nut, so the decor was irrelevant. I was pleased that the food was good. But what really made the visit memorable was the waitress. It was more than the obvious fact that she was gorgeous. It was how she treated her customers. Like a butterfly she would flit in, hover around us just long enough to take our breath away because this vision of stunning beauty was paying attention to me and then leave us wanting more as she flitted away.

Unfortunately, the three I have visited since were more like eating at a diner. The waitress took my order, delivered the food and dropped off the check. You won't get $100 tips that way.

The point is that to be successful, you need to be selling more than hamburgers. You need to be selling yourself. Sound familiar?
As a photographer, I do not matter. What matters is how attractive my images can make you look.

A friend of mine told me this....

"You think strippers are crazy? Ya'll aint got nothing on those Hooter's girls!"

If it weren't for my tattoos and my aversion to pantyhose, shorts and socks I might give it a try.
