Millionaires with Hyper Crush August 2nd!
I thought about going to Warped tomorrow but the line up this year is completely and rediculously weak. Literally, the only person I like on the whole bill is Jeffree Star (okay, and one Katy Perry song, lol) and he ain't worth the ticket price, I've seen him already and should know!

I really don't like big venues. I've been able to catch some of my favorite bands in smaller venues: The Cult, Concrete Blonde, and Social Distortion (you can tell I'm old). If I want to see bigger events, I'd have to go to Phoenix.

I agree, large venues suck. I went to Projekt Rev. last year at Fiddlers Green and the place was horrible to figure out where to go and even worse for sound quality. The Fillmore here in Denver is crap unless you get barrier cause the floor is totally flat and you can't see shit, I've seen My Chem, Gogol Bordello, and Kraftwerk there...Kraftwerh hands down having been the most awe inspiring show I've ever seen...cuz they're kinda fuckin KRAFTWERK, y'know?
I don't even like mid-sized theatres. The Bluebird sucks, the Gothic sucks slightly less, and the Ogden is passing.
My fave venue in Denver is this tiny-ass hole in the wall called the Marquis Theatre. It's one of those classic shitty venues with the like, 2 foot tall stage and attached pizza parlour. But the fact that it's so tiny and the cieling is so low means all the energy gets super compressed. I saw the singer of Escape The Fate do monkey bars on the rafters, lol.
My second fave venue is Cervantes. It's in the ghetto and really isn't that special, but the great memories I have of the place are all I care about. I tried to pole dance on one of the pillars near the entrance, lol...needless to say I was high.

They have a Marquee theatre in Tempe Arizona where lots of bands play. Mike ness played there last night with the Horton Brothers. Rev Horton Heat will be playing with Nashville Pussy and Supersuckers at The Rialto. I've Seen Social Distortion, Devil Doll, Detroit Cobras, Concrete Blonde, The Last Call Brawlers, The Cult, Queensryche, Kittie, Shadowsfall, Mudvayne, Bad Religion, Cypress Hill, 311, Sublime and a few more. When I saw My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult at Club Congress it was funny. Tucson's entire goth community showed up in force lol. I thought it was funny to see some 45 yr old dude all goth'd out. I like ebm/darkwave/gothic music too, but I don't dress the part. I'm lookin at the dude like "um u should lose the eyeliner, latex shirt and fishnet evening gloves . . . how about just a black shirt" Dressing like that is a young persons game. It gets ridiculous at like 50 lol, Hell even Siouxsie Sioux cleaned up act. Ha!

Have tix to see Iggy and the Stooges for August 8th in NYC. Woot!!!
I wished I lived in a bigger city just for the music scene. LA or NYC.

Lol, but Siouxsie still has a killer body, she'll strip down to her bra live and it's just like, "my god woman, and you're HOW old?!"
I don't think our Marquis is part of a chain. It's run by a small-ish local promoter by the name of Soda Jerk Presents. IMO, all the best little shows are put on by Soda Jerk and they're wonderfully supportive of the local scene too.

I went to a music fest called KFMA day sponsored by a local radio station. Kittie, Long Beach Dub All Stars, Goldfinger, Bad Religion and Cypress Hill. The second time I went it was 311, Stabbing Westward, Staind, Saliva and Sum 41. Sum 41 really stunk up the joint. The entire field split for beer or took a piss during their set HaHa !

^
Hahaha, Sum 41 is just pop punk bullshit. Their singer had the lack-of-balls enough to marry fucking AVRIL LAVIGNE, lol.
There are so many things I judge a show by, I could never pick a fave. Greatest emotional moments are at MCR shows whenever they play Cancer. My greatest "holy shit" moment was when Davey Havok grabbed my hand at Blaqk Audio shot eye-lazers into my eyes and sang more at me than to me, lol. And for sheer awe and "dear god I never imagined I'd see this," getting to see Kraftwerk in a suprisingly small gig last spring was fantastic.
