I'm ordering a pole from Platinum Stages RIGHT NOW! Brass or steel!? Brass is $40 more. Worth it or no difference? It's the removable pole with the option to spin or be stationary.

BTW, I've never worked on a steel pole, always brass.
Brass is worth it. Steel is very sticky.
Really? I've had the opposite experience, that brass is grippy and steel is slippery. A friend of mine ordered a steel one from them and it was slick the one time I used it. I don't know how, but of all the clubs I've ever worked at (50+) they have always had brass.
My friend had a good experience with them, so I'm going for this instead of Lil Mynx.
I had a steel pole and it was sticky as all hell, but I still had trouble climbing it. When I've worked in clubs with a brass pole, I've always done better with those.
I should point out though, I'm a shitty pole dancer, LOL! Ask Summer or somebody who knows what she's talking about.

I find steel slick, too. If I were getting a PS pole, and I could afford it either way, I'd want brass.
I'm a shitty pole dancer, too! I need to learn tricks b/c I'm starting school again and can only work Thurs, Fri, Sat and it's a party crowd at my clubs those nights. I can't shake my ass, so I need to be able to do SOMETHING onstage as opposed to my weekday swaying.
One at work is brass, and the other two are (chipped!) powder coated. I should splurge on the brass because it's what I'm going to be working on IRL.

brass ftw
Ok, brass. Settledthanks!
Hooray! I'm getting a pole for my house! Stripper party at my place!

I would go with whatever your club has.

i vote for whatever type of pole you have at your work, that way you dont get all super confident on the home pole only to find it extra hard to do the same move on the pole at work.
I was going to vote brass too but you already made your mind upGood choice! Mine is powder coated, but I wanted something super sticky so I can stick to it while I build up my strength and learn new moves.

you are not shitty! a little practice and you'll be a pro! speaking of..you must come see the new place!
the stainless is much slicker than brass, but i say order stainless...if you can do it on a stainless and you can do it on just about anything. plus the upkeep is way easier on that vs brass, which you have to brasso (yuck!) i do offer both at my studio to learn on, but most everyone hords the stainless ones.

Well, incidentally, my club replaced the two powder coated poles on the side stages with brass ones the day after I ordered. Awesome timing! They're still always covered in baby oil, though. They need clorox wipes by the stage.
I bought a Platinum Stages brass pole for my favourite dancer. Has to be brass in my opinion
I am not a number. I am a free man

Summer-I need to see the new studio! What times would be free for me to come by? Are you still doign hte sunday and monday open poles?(this week i can't make eithe rof those times)
You will love the brass, viola, SO much easier to learn on. I wish i'd gotten brass, but i couldn't find anywhere producing them when i bought mine. I have a powder coat and i HATE it. Like i can somewhat dance on it, but between it being thicker than I'd like, and powder coat, i can't experiment much on it. Any portland girls want to trade a spinning stationary powdercoat(2 inch diameter) for a stationary brass thin pole?(1.75 diameter)
