    Default Vamp

Has anyone here ever seen the movie Vamp? It is simply fantastic. Total 80's cheese with one liners, bad hair, stock characters, synth soundtrack, cheap horror effects, the works. And - get this - vampire strippers. So beautiful I could cry.

Really guys, you gotta see this. I'm like creaming my panties watching it for the third time in two days. My girlfriend loves it, too.

I haven't seen Vamp in forever. Isn't that the one where someone gets staked with Formica instead of wood, towards the end of the movie? A part of my brain is saying Dweezil Zappa was in it too. Hmmm. I just remember Grace Jones' dying skeleton giving the finger and how cheesy it was. I'll see if Best Buy has it. I did watch "Fright Night" recently, it was on when I got home from work.

Another awesomely cheese-drenched masterpiece - a fav. I love to rag on the clothes from both movies.

If you really want to rag on 80's hairstyles, bad outfits, and deliciously bad over-the-top out-of-nowhere dance routines while enjoying your cheesy vampire kicks, you can't go wrong with "Once Bitten". That dance scene is simply ridiculous.

Have you seen The Hunger or Cat people. Both cheesy 80's horror flicks. But cat ppl of course wasnt vampires, dit id have a cool David Bowie tune Putting out the Fire. Reminds of The Sisters of Mercy.

^Yay, "The Hunger". Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, Bauhaus playing in a club? Yes, please. It doesn't hold up as well, but there are some excellent scenes. The makeup is incredible, too.

We jacked this into a general "cheesy 80's horror flicks" thread. Sorry!

That movie was a whole sexual awakening for me. I have dialogue memorized.

Cat People made Natassia Kinski my big crush.

What about Anne Parillaud from Innocent Blood ? Yummy Nekkidness! I love how that movie is a dark comedy and vampire flick. It had great special effects for the time and good cast.

"Innocent Blood" had a lot of fun cameos in it. Dario Argento, Sam Raimi, Frank Oz. And C'mon, Don Rickles!

I loved "Near Dark" too. I heard rumblings about a remake of it being in the works.

Blood Diner! Frankenhooker! Brain Damage! Rock n' Roll Frankenstein!

I loves me some cheesy horror flicks.

    YES!!!!
This and Fright Night are 2 of my all time fave films!
I love the soundtrack to it and am gutted that i cant find it anywhere, Grace Jones looks great in it!
Fright Night gave me a Chris Sarandon obsession and the soundtrack is "sooooooooo cool brewster", the night club scene gave me wet dreams for weeks!

I love the handcuff sex scene in Innocent Blood, havent seen it in a while so it might be time to dust it off!

Near Dark is great, the bar scene with the Cramps cover of Fever is magic!

In case you cant tell im such a vampire geek, i have sooo many on dvd, anyone remember My Best Friend Is A Vampire?

Also i highly reccomend Vampire Journals for a great gothic vampire story
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEATrCvAY1A

And Daughter Of Darkness is a nice take on the vampire legend.

I see I'm not alone. What was the song playing in FN during that scene? Actually I think it was two songs that played through it - I'm talking about the first one.

Near Dark was original in a way I hadn't seen - the whole vibe of it.

    ^Awesome, thank you.

'80s cheese movies that manage to be sheksy = heaven.

There was a scholarly book about these movies written by an academic who used to be at U of Penn. In fact, the cover is from Near Dark.

I also thought "Come to Me" from FN 2 was a good song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCO-3...eature=related
