Our household has been buzzing about it like mad. The LJ community is calling the ending "surprise buttsecks!"
I'm really passionate about Doctor Who. The Ninth Doctor is my favorite, but I'm finding myself really liking Ten more as time goes on. And of course the old series is great... I've got the twelve-foot scarf hanging on my closet door.![]()

Dr Who sorta went down hill for me after Tom Baker and Peter Davidson
Any pleasure I would get from being able to give myself a blow job, would be completely negated by the fact that there a guy was sucking my dick.

Oh, yes. I started when the new series hit SciFi channel, never having watched an episode of the old series before. I didn't want to get hooked on it; I'm nerdy enough without being a Doctor Who fan. But it was so good- far and away better than Star Trek, for sure.
I was disappointed when Eccleston left (did you know he's Destro in the new G.I. Joe movie?), but Tennant is fantastic and I can see why some long-time fans think he's the best Doctor ever. I don't know if I could get used to a different actor.
SciFi just aired the Library episodes, which were great (I will say that the Master arc was epic). I love all the foreshadowing. I got spoiled about the cliffhanger thanks to Wikipedia, but rumors say it's not what it looks like...
And to reiterate what I said in the Favorite TV Show thread- Freema Agyeman is one of the most gorgeous women on the face of the earth.

Yay! I have a couple of the Eight books myself. Some are good. Some are not.
I'm not sure if David Tennant is the best Doctor ever, but the stories are great, especially the Steven Moffat ones.
R-209, you can watch up to the last one aired in the UK on surfthechannel.com!

Come over and you can read them with me! They're itty bitty books and take like an hour to read.

I used to watch this show years ago. Is it the same old one? When is it on?

Unfortunately, my tiny little town has yet to offer high-speed access (pity me!), so no online watching for me. I could take the laptop to a wifi spot, but I'd rather wait a little while and draw the suspense out a bit. Plus it will give me something to look forward to until The Shield comes back.
The new series is definitely a continuation of the old one, so shouldn't the Doctor be running out of regenerations pretty soon?
The new series absolutely rocks. I've had a total crush on Billie Piper since the new series started again 3 years ago and was sad when she left after series 2. Last week's episode the Stolen Earth was just brilliant and actually had one of the highest audience appreciation figures in the history of British TV.
Here's the preview for Saturday's big season finale. Looks insane![]()

I just can't get into the 10th Doctor... It's Tennant's acting - too cartoonish and over the top for my taste. The writing wasn't very good in the third series and that killed it for me.
I saw the most recent episode. I'm just done with the Daleks showing up all the time in every series ending.
(However, I'm also biased. I thought Eccleston was the best Doctor.)
"By 'them' do you mean people like me?"

Yeah, Tennant can be a little melodramatic, but overall I think it works for the character.
I believe that there is some contractual obligation for the Daleks to keep showing up; if they don't use them once per series, they may lose the rights completely.

I actually liked the third series better than the second, but I'm liking the fourth series dramatically better than either of them. I think Tennant's really come into his own. Though Eccleston is still my favorite. :-)
And that youtube clip has got adorable jibes at the actors (especially Tom Baker, who apparently drank his way through several series!)
P.S. Youtube gave me THIS in "related videos." LOL...

^^Ooooh, go see this:

Finally got to see the last episodes on SciFi Channel- good stuff. Even though everyone else probably saw them weeks ago, I'll add a little SPOILER SPACE...
I thought the cliffhanger WAS the finale, and everyone was left in agony wondering if the Doctor would actually regenerate. I knew the solution would involve the hand, but the DoctorDonna was a neat twist. I assume the giant ring Donna wears is a hint of something to come (especially considering the way it shines at the end)? Could there be a connection to the Master's ring? And does this count as one of the Doctor's remaining regenerations?
The prophecy stated that one of the Doctor's companions would die. Is that fulfilled by Donna's memories being wiped ("That version of Donna is dead," says the Doctor). They had better never kill Martha. She was gorgeous in this episode.
Davros reminds me an awful lot of Emperor Palpatine. I know the Davros charcter was around before Return of the Jedi came out, so did George Lucas "borrow" the idea or was Davros portrayed differently back then?
The actor playing Wilfred was fantastic.
Nice effects on the destruction of the Dalek Cruicible- better than when the Death Star blew up.
So no new episodes for quite a while then? I understand that in lieu of a regular season, they'll be doing a series of television movies...
