I started it today and it's already making me horribly tired and sluggish, though it has eased off some of my anxiety and ED behaviours.
What are other people's experiences with efficacy and side-effects?

I've been on Luvox for about 8 years![]()
It helps me a lot. It can have the tendency to make u anxious (a strange side effect for an SSRI but hey). It also gives me night sweats sometimes.
I do get tired a lot but exercising helps combat that to a degree.
Anything more specific u want to know? My brain not working very well tonight so I cant think of anything else.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

I woke up anxious as hell today :/.
Does it do anything to your appetite or weight? What other side effects do you experience?
i've been on luvox for 13 yrs. since i was 14. it's a wonderful AD. i used to have very bad panic attacks, and was overly anxious and OCD. it's helped alot. of course you've just started it, so let you body and brain adapt to it and im sure you'll feel better soon.
as for weight gain, i actually lost weight on it. the only real side effect would be tiredness, and over sleeping. i find if i miss a day, i get really hungry, and bitchy. so just take it at the same time every day or night and it will be most effective.
the only real side effect is dry mouth in the morning. for me, but everyone's different. i swear by it! good luck!

This is very hard to answer because I've been on it for so long and because I was on a different SSRI before Luvox. I've been taking SSRI's since I was 14 to treat anxiety and depression. Most of the time I function very well but since I started dancing my doctor has increased my dosage and I do have panick attacks.
I dont know what i would be like without the medication, I have become so reliant on SSRI's.
You do need to give it a bit of time to see whether it's gonna work for u tho.
