I don't usually but i was struck with a feeling this afternoon while getting my subway and i bought a 2 dollar scratchy ticket. I won 4 dollars
Anyone else play the lotto?
I did last year a lot after I met someone on a cruise who won $30 million in the lottery, but it got boring FAST.
sometimes but not very often.
Sometime. I don't play it often though. Everytime I play it I get myself all excited, I convince myself I'm going to win and start planning out what I'm going to spend my winnings on. When It comes to the draw and I haven't won I get all dissapointed.![]()

My parents do and it pisses me off. They had me buying tickets when I was like 12 because they "felt it". Huge waste of money. I like to spend my money on things with better odds of returns, like gas and going to work (even though sometimes even thats a bust, ahah).
yes i do...im addicted..

No way.
It's a tax for people who can't do math.
LOL!
Because there ain't no tits on the radio
occasionally I'll spend $1 on the one that has the big jackpot, but I don't expect anything out of it.
I use to when i lived in new york always the same numbers one time i won 4000 and another time i gave someone else winning numbers
but now since i live in vegas if i feel like i need to gamble ill just head to the casino and play penny slots lol for some reason ill spend 6 dollars and make about 100 that only happend 3 times
lol im banned from playing lottery (from my husband) i spent my entire paycheck on lottery tickets right after i turned 18 and won hardly anything. i pretty much spent a couple of hours in a 7-11 that night scratching off a whole bundle of 1 dollar tickets and then started in on the 30 dollar scratch offs! lol
I used to but not anymore. I won once though..$500. The crappy thing is we hit the "bonus number" on the pick 6..and we had to go to a thing where all the people who hit it were put in a lottery for a million. A cpl people won up to $100,000...but the guy who won the million had already won like twice before. SO unfair. And he wasnt even excited...just went up to get the check and was all "ok thanks" and got down. WTF??? If I won a million fucking dollars I'd be flipping OUT!!! He acted like he didnt even care. UNFAIR!!

I'll usually play a fiver a week; most of the time it's money I would have spent anyway, so it's no skin off my back. If the jackpot's huge I might buy 20 or more tickets.
Last week in fact I won £36, which allowed me to buy tickets for the next three weeks at no additional cost![]()

I do. Twice a week. I'm gonna win.

Rarely. Oddly enough, when we were flat broke is when we played lottery a lot.I guess we thought our troubles could magically go away.
The most I've ever won anyways was about $60. Of course at the time, it was fabulous.
But I only do scratch offs. I'm too impatient for the 'real' lottery.
Well, I'm very good in math and you're not completely correct.
Actually, I hate when people say this because in their way of making lotto players seem bad at math, they themselves do because they fail to take different scenarios into consideration.
I mean, if the odds of winning Powerball is 1 in 147 million, then the odds are actually in the player's favor if it gets high enough.
And just to the person that is going to say "what about if you have to split the jackpot?"
fuck it. Half of $150 million+ is still worth a dollar.

my odds are not much worse of finding a winning ticket in the street vs buying a ticket, so i just save the buck.
if someone else gets me a scratchoff, i will scratch it, but it has no 'fun' appeal to me, so i just don't buy them. they were ok when i was a kid, though. often won 2-5$ per one.
i just don't gamble with my own money (and only to be polite with someone else's) since i was 20 and went from up a bunch of money to spending some of my textbook money. i stood there and said to my friend 'i get why people sign over their houses. imma stop now'. and since then, gambling just doesn't have that appeal for me in any form.
Only if I have an exceptionally awesome day....usually a few times a year.

I play them for fun, but it's pretty well known that Australian lotto has heaps better odds. Like I always get $10 scratchies and I win $15-$20 usually.
Here's a video of a news station following how a guy won a car only to record him winning $250,000 the same exact way:

I buy the powerball. I know I probably won't win, but five dollars twice a week is a small investement to possibly win 200,000,000 dollars. LOL!
I love scratch off tickets! UNfortunatly, they don't exist in Nevada, but sometimes for fun we drive to the Cali border and buy some for the hell of it.
When I went home to Pa a few years ago, I bought scratch off tickets at every gas station I passed. I couldn't help myself, i missed them! Can't say I've ever won anythign dramatic though..maybe $100 or so. Got better odds on blackjack![]()

I play scratch offs once in a while but the most I have ever won is $3 on a $3 ticket. When it comes to gambling, I just never seem to have any luck.
Why do only old people win??? (Rolls eye)
