Hey, haven't been on in forever.
My husband and I are being stationed in Japan. Anybody know where I can look to find the best clubs in my area?
We will be in Yokosuka, south of Tokyo.
I better learn some Japanese language and customs quick!

If everything you try is a sure thing, you aren't taking enough risks. If you never fail, you put a limit on the degree to which you can succeed. In short, the only way to win big is to risk losing

Roppongi and Kabukicho, if I remember right.

Have fun!! My husband and I might end up there sometime in the distant future. I know there's a young woman on this board who just got back from JP this month. She'd been dancing there for quite a while. I'll PM her and see if she doesn't have anything to add! Please post if you have recent info on visas (work/tourist, ect). I may want to hop over to JP for a week or so after a stint in Guam this winter!
Good luck!

Japan is nothing like what you think Dancing is, in the clubs Ive worked at you will do a mix of Hostessing, and stage tips are non-existant. Your Visa will be better than a Tourist Visa, so maybe there is a chance you may have it easier for being hired, because within the last 3 years, immigration has tightened up like HELLA. The best club I worked at in Kabukicho did not rehire me because of it(I had a valid working permit) alot of clubs now have a policy of "Marriage Visa only" because Marriage visa or Permanent Residency is the only real answer for legality. So while I wish I could recommened you some places, From my experience Visa laws are being enforced and honestly it surprised me.
Working in Japan can be really boss though because Japan doesnt have a Tipping culture and you get something called a "guarantee", a flat fee for sitting around. Some clubs let you get paid per hour, some clubs Have a Uriage system that lets you control it. Being Paid and making Money in Japan can be VERY lucrative, but it highly relies on you ability to small talk and hostess. Being Blonde and Big boobs Im sure is still hot, but My old clubs top earner had no boobs and knew japanese (her first language was portugese and then english, she was japanese). Also being paid every night isnt the norm, but some clubs do it. The Customers are mostly a bunch of meek shy guy japanese (most of the time very cheap) and your occsional foreign businessman. The Emotional stress is considerably lower concerning customer BS, and every club ive worked at inter-Dancer drama has been practically non-existant. So your guaranteed money every night and emotionally its just much more pleasant.
The cons are you have to sit in the dancer "dugout" and a floor manager sends you out as the customers come in, you dont have a choice because its his job to read customers and help you sell drinks. btw, drinking is required. You get drink commission so you have to push push push! If a customer is cheap you have to deal with it until you get a table change by the manager or its busy enough to walk away (some clubs are just dead as fuuckk). 6-8 Hour shifts are pretty normal, you can maybe come in later or leave earlier and it will be deducted from a guarantee and you probably have to let the club know ahead of time.
The average night in Japan for me normally never broke 20,000 yen (roughly 200usd) hell, possibly 15,000, it was a club with ALOT of cheapos...although in my old club in kabukicho 20,000-30,000 wasnt as rare.
any more questions just holler, I tried to cover as much as i could!
thnx for the 411 i really want to go to japan, i only speak a little japanese tho and ive heard its so $$$ to live there! and ive also heard that girls have to be reallllly skinnnny.? is that true?

so funny I was dating someone who was stationed in yokosuka and he walked into my club in yokohama. First and only guy I went out with from my club while I danced. Tropicana isn't in yokohama anymore, it moved to roppongi. I guess you'll have to train it there, and my friend made a ton of money in shinjuku the red light district of japan apparently.

Anybody in Japan, Tokyo right now? I am going there on the 19th of January, just for vacation but I'd like to go look at some clubs for the future, I would like to come back and work in Tokyo... Any ladies that know what the good places to work at are right now? Thanks!! J
