Default Pole tricks...worth it or not???

Do you feel you can make more money on stage by knowing pole tricks?

Do you think it gets you more money off stage when you do them on stage?

Do you think its even worth it to do pole tricks?

Do you make more money on/off stage when you do them or when you dont?

Me personally I like doing pole tricks but i find i make more money when i just dance sexy and sensual. I will make more stage money by getting crazy on the pole but i get more money off stage when i dance sexy and sensual on stage

girls at my job say the opposite...what about you?

I do pole tricks to give my body a work out and to give me something to do. I work dayshift and dance 3 songs a set and the stage is normally pretty empty and it gets boring just dancing so the pole tricks give me something to do. I've never sold a dance because of pole tricks but I've gotton maybe a few extra dollars. In the end, I don't think it makes a big difference moneywise doing poletricks.

I do pole tricks because I like doing pole tricks. It's a way to entertain myself. Me having fun = me looking like I'm having fun = me making money.

Simple answer.... depends on the club & depends on the girl. Some clubs are very uhmmmm... "pole-centric"... some clubs have poles just for show. Some girls (myself included) look like dumb-asses on the pole and other gals are fantastic.

So depending on the crowd, the girl, and the club it may or may not be worth it. Do the math..... what ever gets you the most $$$ is the most sensible answer.

alert the press.. we agree on something!

thats pretty much what i was going to say just based on the thread title. it really does depend on the club. and sometimes the customers. like those icky pole dancing classes that come in and only tip the girls who do pole tricks.

Really? Pole dancing classes? Wish they'd come in with their icky selves and tip me!

I work at a stage only club, but even there pole tricks won't necessarily make you more money- lots of girls don't even do simply tricks here. I do them, because I can and because I like to.

i didnt mean it as in those who take pole dancing classes are icky. i meant that oftentimes, a group of women from a pole dancing class will go to a strip club, and they only tip the girls who do pole tricks. that's super annoying to me.

I think better stage performances make people want dances from you when you get offstage, but people don't really tip for spectacular pole work in vegas. In some areas people tip huge for dancers who are like gumby on the pole. Nakita kash does good polework if you want ideas. She has a video out.

One thing to consider in your cost-benefit analysis is your risk of injury. If you are accident-prone, or already have joint and muscle issues, then you'll have to consider the cost of getting medical treatment and time off work. Falls and rotator cuff tears do happen.

I'm willing to try when I can locate a convenient pole instructor whom I trust. Screwing around on my own and hoping for the best hasn't suited me (I am not naturally graceful), so I'm one of the non-pole dancers.

I've watched the exceptional pole dancers get stage tips more than the non-pole folks.

I've only seen 3 or 4 girls who actually look SEXY and graceful doing pole tricks, and I've been dancing for about 6 years. Other girls can do them (and do some pretty crazy ones), but they look awkward and the movement doesn't flow. I remember one girl I used to watch who would just walk back and forth between 2 poles and fling herself up on them.

Some guys love watching pole tricks and I'm sure they give girls a few extra dollars for them. They don't care if girls look sexy doing them or not.

I know how to go upside down and do stuff, but I only do if I'm extremely bored. So...to answer your question, I guess they are worth it for the workout, a couple extra bucks, and to entertain yourself. They also might be worth it in a club where everyone does pole tricks and where people would be asking you why you weren't doing any.

Eye contact and sexy, mostly slow movement is what I use to try and draw people in for lapdances on stage.

I occasionally get a couple more bucks on a stage set if the guys are really impressed by my tricks (and I have some crazy ones). It all gets evened out when I get so wrapped up in the pole (literally and figuratively) that I forget to go get the tips so the guys can put more money down.

In addition, my club is no contact, so when guys ask me why they should get a private dance when they can get the same thing on stage, I have a good selling point. I tell them that on stage I do mostly pole tricks and showy stuff for the crowd, but if I dance for them in the back, they get a much slower, sexier, sensual dance just for them. It tends to be a good sell.

I can only do one pole trick, but most nights I don't even do it, I just crawl around. I make all my money on the floor, although I have had a couple smart ass guys ask "can you do that?" when some other dancer is doing a cool pole trick.

I do a lot of pole work in my stage acts. And do I make more money because of it. I only feature now so I don't do dances anymore, but when i was depending on dance money the pole work always helped to set me apart from the rest of the girls. The better you are on stage the more attention from the club you get. Guys want the "star" of the club. They want the special one. Ever since they wanted the head cleerleader they wanted that. So if everyone is ooohing and awwing while you're on stage, they want you.
I made more money on stage, and I always had new guys asking for dances when I got off stage. Which was good because I am a terrible hustler. So thank God for the pole work, it made them come to me. A lot of the time I would be just sitting around the whole first hour until I got onstage.
But I knew this about myself, so I practiced all the time. If there was a new pole trick I saw I learned it. I would watch stage a lot. Even if the girl wasn't doing pole work. I wanted to see how people flowed. Pole work is no good if it doesn't flow together. Choppy pole work is not sexy. And the whole point is to be sexy, right?
Now I feature out here in los angeles because of the stage work I do. So the clubs pay me to put on a show. Thankfully I don't have to do lap dances anymore. Yea! And next week I'm opening up my own Pole dancing studio on Sunset. So if you'd ask me if pole dancing makes you more money I'd say Hell Yeah It Does!
But, of course, what works for one wont work for all.

Are there any good places in Norcal for pole dancing lessons. I thought about buying the pole and dvd and trying from home, but the last time I bought a pole my son learned how to lift himself up and I couldn't take it.

The Studio is called Halo. It's located right next door to Sunset Plaza in West Hollywood. Sunset around La Cienega, across the street from Mel's Diner. Classes start next week.
It's brand new so I'm still working on the website, but it will be at thehalostudio.com
If you live in the Los Angeles area check out the website, it will be up soon, for the schedule of classes.

    Blue Angel....

would you be so kind as to post your new studio information on my forum!

I have many requests for studio info around the world!

You may even find some great info on their for your studio!

    www.polejunkies.com/newForum

OH...and I want to add my 2cents into the thread!

I was a stage performer for well over 10 years...I have ALWAYS done polework.

Blue Angel is correct that if the work...whether pole, floor or dance, does not flow...it does not work!

I never had to seek a contract or an agent...they always found me...as I was know as the Original PoleJunkie. I was booked a minimum of 6-8 months in advance. I travelled the world, as a feature under contract, strictly because of my polework and vast array of costumes (72 themes).

With over 500 pole moves known to woman today...there really is something for everyone...and not all inverts or strenuous moves!

my theory has always been that they dont help that much. they might draw a lot of attention to you if your really good and sexy but if your a hot chick you probably draw attention just on that. i personally retired from pole tricking and make double what i used to . i move good in a private dance and know how to hustle a guy in a conversation. some nights i even pay the dj to not put me onstage. im not gunna say i dont appreciate the make it rain love that i have gotten on stage but all in all its not worth half of what some baulers have given me to sit and talk while sippin on that pj rose all nite ......... feel me???

No, not worth it, but they amused me while on stage. I'd prefer to skip stage altogether.
Just look sensual, as Alena pointed out, because if you look choppy, regardless of your action (pole, floor, standing and walking) you will look awful. So be confident in your moves and exude sensuality and confidence.

    Love it!

I agree, although I found that during the day it didn't really earn me an extra tips, just a way to kill my boredom. At night it just depends how full the club is (the fuller the better I think.)

At my club the girls do tricks so attention to mediocre... But the DJ & Light Guy love me, so they would play songs that would make me wanna do tricks and turn the lights down for my blue blinking shoes. Sometimes it does get me dances, guys are asking for "The tiny girl with the flashy shoes!"
