I've been reading a lot of sales books lately and while 80% of it is applicable to our industry, the other 20% is funny. What tips have you come across in your reading that would NOT work in our industry? Here are a few of mine:
-Letters of recommendation.
Me: "Would you like a dance?"
Dude: "Ummm.... I dunno."
Me: *whips out letters of recommendation*
-A book I just read said that people in sales are often most successful at 40-45+ and that when we sell we should try imagining selling to them again and again and 20 years down the road. I'm trying to imagine me lapdancing for this guy when I'm 43 and he's 80 but I just can't picture it LOL
