Default Occasonial or brand new strippers with holier-than-thou attitudes

    Suck.

I'm so tired of chicks waltzing in to try a night or two of dancing because its trendy or edgy or whatever. I don't know if this happens anywhere else, but its soooo annoying. These girls come in, dance for a night or two, dance all awkwardly on stage, condescend towards the girls who are there to support themselves, and then bounce. Grrrrrr. They treat the normal girls like anomalies while in the same breath asking for stage dancing and hustling tips.

Ranty rant rant. Sorry, I don't even know how to put this into words right now, I'm just annoyed. They hold the same prejudices about us as asshole custies but they infiltrate our dressing rooms.

that is annoying...but on the bright side, at least they don't last long. Once they find out stripping's not actually a glamorous real-life version of a BET video, they disappear.

Ugh..hate this. I had one girl at a club i used to work at that had been dancing a grand total of about a month( i had been dancing about 5 years at this point) try to give me pointers on how to be a stripper. She thought she knew EVERYTHING about the job even though she'd only worked at one club a cpl nights here and there.
And her "tips" were things like how to tell if a guy is a cop and that if he is he HAS to tell you he is or else he cant arrest you for anything. Oh..and you HAD to do stuff like give one dance for free so he'd want to spend money on you. Yeah ..OK honey.
She was pretty pissed when I told her that 1) that isnt true and 2) I dont do anything illegal so I dont really care if he's a cop or not( you have to be REALLY bad to get arrested here...the cops are all paid off and illegal activity is the norm here anyway...in part BECAUSE the cops are paid off so clubs know they can pretty much get away with anything) and 3) a GOOD SMART stripper doesnt EVER give anything away for free!!
She rolled her eyes as how stupid I was and how I'd "learn" eventually.

    STFU bitch.

Um yeah, hated that girl last night. Hopefully she won't show up again.

Is it mean that I wanted to point and laugh at her attempts to dance sexy on stage?

This is why I'm so happy that you have to have $300-400 licenses where I am.

You're right, that is a good solution to this problem. I wish CA would require licenses. There's too much of this happening in the clubs lately.

To me this kind of thing goes along with the girls who are just dancing "for fun". Seriously? For fun? I don't know why this gets on my nerves so much, I guess maybe because some of us are doing this to um....support ourselves and it's a JOB not a hobby.

Ah, in Oregon (where the OP is located) it's pretty much all nude all the time. woooo... boo edgy girls!

LilyLove, don't you work in a college town? I'll bet that that ups the # of bored girls... I know I started dancing between my jr & senior years...

I hate to admit this but I had a little bit of an attitude when I first started. I though that I was "different" from the other girls because I had a degree and a "real job." I got a huge reality check after a couple nights. Maybe it's just my club but the women I work with are so smart and amazing human beings!

Yep. Although the bored university girl thing used to happen a lot more a year ago. They'd come in and just be certain that none of us were their peers at school.

Lately though its been these really random girls with guy friends who convince them to do it, probably to see them naked. Luckily, it seems that lack of rhythm directly corresponds to condescending new girl-ness. There was another one tonight, and she was just terrible. Like your mom getting her dance moves on after a couple of white zinfandel's. Except she was like 22.

Again, there is such a distinction between genuine new girls and these girls. There was another new girl who actually was serious about it, and she was very choppy and awkward on stage, but in the cute, wobbly-legs new stripper way.

I worked with this one girl who would show up for one shift every couple weeks, then brag to everyone about how she doesn't need to really work but comes in every once in a while for fun.....because her BF is a drug dealer and makes so much money. Winner alert!!!

She'd prance around the place with her nose in the air and always had to put her 2 cents into any conversation.
One time I got pissed cause she came up and infiltrated a table I was sitting at, totally hustling shots of tequila out of these two guys, and then wanted me to try to pick-pocket them with her!!!
    Ummm.....no.

As an occasional dancer ... I try to be very conscious of this. I'm curious about what exactly it is that these girls are doing ....

I don't think I dance akwardly because I used my home pole as my primary fitness outlet for months before even getting on stage.

I don't think I'm condescending at all. When I'm there ... I'm really focused. I'm trying to see how high I can bump up my earnings. I'm trying to see if I can get good enough at this to make ( what I consider ) good money. I don't go in the DR at all ( literally long enough to lock up my stuff and put on lip gloss ) and then I immediately get out and start hustling and stay working / sales focused .

I might change an outfit once or be in the DR to pee if the bathroom is there ... and that's it. I'm actually curious if I should be a little more friendly to the other girls. Basically ... I smile and say hello and occasionally intruduce myself , but mostly I stay out of their way and don't try to befriend anyone right away . I'm giving them time to warm up to me and see that I'm a NO drama person and that I'm not trouble ... it seems like I often find that the super friendly right away ones are trouble. I also don't advertise that I'm a traveling girl.

I've got to say also ... I do feel like I have every right to be there if a club will let me. Being a traveling dancer is a little different though. I think you directed things towards girls not familiar with SC's. I feel like I'm a good girl to have around ... even if I'm not around too much. I travel for my other job and sometimes it's just cheaper to keep me in the area ( for example, I might have a 4-5 day trip , but only be expected to work 2 full days). I dance during those down days when I just be just be stuck in a weird city anyway ... probably at a bar or something else to entertain myself and get out of the hotel.

If I average $333 a night and I do that 3 nights a month ... that's $1000 a month ( $1000 more than I would have if I used that time to just hang out at my hotel or goof off wherever I am ). If I make a little more ... great ( and I do aim for more than $333 a night ) . If I don't quite make what I'm hoping for... oh well. If things were to ever get slow at my other gig , I could dance a little often. If I get bored at my other gig , I can dance a little often. If the economy were to take major uphill climb and strippers who have good sales skills really started banking consistently again .... I would definitely be dancing more often. It gives me freedom and flexibility. Plus ... I get to see different clubs and do a mini strip club tour which is great fun ! I also had just wanted to do this forever ... so I finally did.

So far ... I've dealt with some pretty friendly / cool girls ( and customers ) .

I am not talking about girls like you you AT ALL. In face, I think you are an asset because it keeps some variety for the guys. It keeps things fresh. I'm talking more the oh heehee stripping is fun, I'll go get wasted and bop around on stage like its spring break whooo!

I didn't really think you were and I agree - variety is a good thing for clubs. I think it can help smaller clubs especially ( larger clubs don't need variety - there's plenty ).
