As a customer I see this and it ticks me off! so I want to share it with yu and find out why you go to the club.
Why are there if you don't tip?
Why are you there if you don't get dances?
Why are you there if you don't drink?
really.![]()

What a great thread to start. I'm going to hold back my own thoughts and give them time to respond. I zoomed in to two guys at a club recently ( who were sitting near the front of stage and not tipping ) and I almost went up to them with 20 ones and said ( nicely ) " Do you need me to break change for you so you can tip the girls on stage ? " . It wasn't just me that they didn't tip and I wanted to nudge them to tip while still being nice about it. I just didn't know what the right etiquette was at that particular club , so I didn't do it .
i have a feeling most of the custies here do, so we may not get a good answer.

^ Yeah ... the ones who have spent some time on the boards have either learned how to act or they will never admit to being cheap ( which would be smart on this board ) .

Well last night the club was packed, I think they had every girl that works at this club work last night... the place was insane and this group of men, 6, next to me were just sitting there. I asked them how they were and if they were amazed on how crowded it was and they said yes. Anyway for 3 sets I noticed not a tip, not a drink, not a dance and I asked the man next to me "no dances yet?" he said "oh I'm not here for that, just hanging with friends" I wanted to say "go to a fucking sports bar you cheap fucker"
A little bit later a girl was on my lap, sweet girl, new and she was like "how do I ask for dances, this places is so full, I don't even know where to start" so I leaned over to the guy and said "one of you needs to help this cutie out I mean look at her, gorgeous! plus she's a bit shy, one of you must have money" they laughed and talked amongst each other and after a few seconds they said "ok I'll help her out" and she gave the dance but fuck wth are you there for?

I know this won't be a popular answer to many, but there really isn't a requirement to tip or drink. Maybe they can't afford it but still want to look at some titties on occasion, who knows, I won't condemn anyone for it.

There may not be rules or requirements but it's like going to a restaurant, do you go and look at the menu, sit there, have the waitress ask you what you are going to order and you say "I don't want anything I'm just going to use this table for sitting" no you don't, or do you?

It's not about he popular answer, that is an honest answer I just don't see the logic of doing it.

I don't think it's logical either, I spend quite a bit in SC's, but who am I to tell somebody else how to have a good time or how to spend their money, I think they can best determine that on their own.
Well I've discussed the anti-social nature of the "you can't make me (or them)" answer; technically you can cut the queue for cabs at the airport as well. I mean, the cab driver will still take you some place. Still - kind of undermining a system intended to work for everyone. My club will chase you out the door if you don't drink - and water and soda is as expensive as beer. Like they would probably let you walk in, grab a dancer and walk up to the VIP to pay the cover without patronizing the bar - but they wouldn't let you sit and watch the scenery even for 10 minutes. I've also mentioned that guys come into my club regularly and seem to have a really bad time; the girls are hostile to them, the waitresses don't like them (because generally that sort of person undertips), they seem completely miserable, and yet. They just keep coming back. It doesn't seem like a good time to me.

This is a tough one.. because sometimes I go into a sports bar, and never watch a second of sports on the plasma screens.. been to a restaurant just to get dessert.. been to a regular bar and drank only soda.. sooooooo.. it kinda comes down to atmosphere.
I like the atmosphere and vibe in a strip club and if you become a semi-regular at a place, you get to like the staff and dancers in a hey howya doin Cheers Norm kind of way. So yeah, sometimes I'll sit off in the corner, enjoy the scenery, people watch, drink my drinks and tip the bartender well. Usually this is because I have an atf and for some reason I become monogamous (extremely silly concept, but its subconscious).. so either she isn't there that night, or I'm waiting on her.. or hell, sometimes I just want to relax and enjoy the ambiance... y'know, the overpriced drinks.. the mumblemouthed DJ.. that faint smell of urine wafting from the men's room. Mmmmmmmm heaven.
I have my rules tho.. no sitting at the rail not tipping.. in fact, I won't even take up a table, I'll stick at the bar. I'll tip the bartender well, I'll tip the waitress if I know her just cuz she looks cute that night.. I'll tip a dancer a couple bucks to go run to the rail and tip whoever's on stage a couple bucks. Crowd loves that girl on girl stuff... and I'll refrain from leading any girls on with a "maybe later" or somesuch.
But.. almost.. does it even matter really? If the club is packed, there's plenty of revenue out there to offset the deadbeats.. and if the club is dead, then at least with warm bodies in seats, there's an illusion that something's happening so that people don't poke their heads in and leave.. which I see a LOT when things are slow. So I dunno..

As a rule, I never go into the club without intending to tip AND get dances. Of course on rare occasions, it doesn't always work out that way (i.e., no girls approaching or willing to dance) but I'm always willing.
With regards to drinks, I freely buy them for myself and any dancer sitting with me that would like one. I will admit, I do reach a point in the night when I don't want to drink anymore either because I don't want to drive drunk or I'm trying to avoid frequent washroom breaks after drinking too much water. Even at that point, I still buy drinks for the girls and I always make it a habit to tip the waitresses well. I've never been hassled by a waitress when I stop ordering drinks for myself for this reason.
i.b.i. is right. The majority of regulars in blue appear to be spenders. It would seem most of the time wasting, non-spending custies are the n00bs posting in CC upstairs.
Well, it is logical, even if it is undesirable.
Answer is pretty simple.... Guys go to get a free show.
A free show? But who would do that?
Answer is... Probably just about everyone you know. Maybe even ourselves.
Examples - Do you enjoy downloading and listening to copyrighted music or movies for free? Music that an artist has CHOSEN to make money from by SELLING it commercially vs giving it away?
And in that case it's even clearly illegal, yet people do it because they benefit, and don't really care what the artist wants. In the Strip Club, it's not even clearly illegal to just hang out and watch for free.
It's really that simple. People tend to do what benefits them, even at the expense of what others want. We all do it to varying degrees. For example, I buy most 99% of my music and videos because it's fair to the artists and process (analogy is dancer and club), but even I'm not 100% perfect. Sometimes I choose what I want over what the artists wants.

Thanks to all for the honesty and X I don't download music for free
I do see what you are saying, I just got the impression that because it was so packed that the people, most of them, were just looking at those getting dances and just benefiting from that while not paying a cent. to me as a person who likes what is fair when it comes to these sorts of things, for example at a restaurant the table next to us, mind you also packed, the waitress did all possible to be on top of things, yet these people were so demanding and fucking picky *I* was getting bothered.
Time to pay the bill, these asses left $2 and some coins on a at least $40 bill, when the waitress went to get the tip she grabed the money and closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, I left her an extra $10 because wtf, anyway I just have seen this a few times , at SC's, and was just really curious why some do this.
Did you uderstand that? sorry I have a head ache from being in the sun too long but yeah I hope that made sense.
It makes sense HHL. I try to do the same in your restaurant analogy. If you have the ability to make things right and someone happy with even a little gesture, why not do it?
But IMO, the restaurant analogy doesn't quite translate to the strip club scene. In a restaurant, the primary product being sold is the food. People go with the intention to buy food to eat. In a strip club, the primary product being sold are the girls. But not everyone goes with the intention of buying dances.

I know this isn't going to be an answer thats representative of the group here, us being junkies and all, but think about it. How many of your RL friends do you know who can justify spending a "mere" $100 on a night of entertainment at a SC, let alone the kind of cash some of us will drop on a single trip? Most guys, even those who can afford it, don't place the kind of value on strippers that we PL's do. In the grand scheme of things, we're the exception, not the norm.
Former SCJ now in rehab.

I'm spendy![]()
Why do people go to SCs and not spend? That's easy, because they can.
^^^ No. The cheapest guys would suddenly forget how to speak English.
Once again I have embraced my addiction and have put off the moral dilemma to another day.
Hehe, NOW you tell me! I should have read up on this before my first SC visit last week. It would have saved me about $5 trying to safe face.
I go in, sit down, and within 30 seconds a waitress is asking for my order.
I: Hmm, nothing, I am driving.
Waitress looking miffed: just to let you know, there is a 2-drink minimum.
I: That痴 fine. I値l have my drinks with dinner later on. I do not want to drink on empty stomach.
Waitress looking pissed: Sir, there is a 2-drink minimum. What are you ordering?
I, getting the hint: OK, since I値l probably be getting a steak, let me have a Bordeaux.
Waitress: huh? A what?
I: Can you please show me your wine list?
Waitress: Well, I can tell you what we have for wine: red, or white.
I: Never mind. I値l have a Black Russian.
I was so embarrassed, that I had to tip her $7. Live and learn.
