I have been having back pain for a while now along with fatigue and swelling of my glands. My doctor took a x-ray of my back and the radiologist found a small calcific density at S1 in the lumbar sacral region/spinal column. He recommended a MRI.

I can't afford a MRI and they won't let me make small payments without putting about two thirds of it down upfront. It'll cost 1300 dollars.

My question is are they just ruling a bone spur or something more serious. I hope it is just a bone spur but I don't want to pay 1300 bucks to discover that.

For those of you who have worked in radiology, are in med school or may have experienced something similiar what do you think it could possibly be?
