    Thumbs up Dream apartment

I've been wanting to move for like ever. I found my dream apartment and going to view it today at 12:30. Please reply quick!

Its only $935 a month with on site laundry and off street parking! Not huge but decent for the area at 650-700 sqr ft. The whole place was remodeled about 8 months ago. Perfect!

Dilemma I'm having is that I have only a few thousand in savings. If I bust my ass this month I will probably have all the money to move without having to dip too much into savings. Although I might have to put off a large credit card payment for a month or less. They also want $700 for deposit plus first months rent = $1695.

    Do I go for it?

If you think you can afford it and it will make you happy then go for it. It might make you poor for a couple of months but you'll be so happy in your new place that you won't want to go anywhere or do anything anyway, you'll just want sit in your lovely new appartment smiling!

do you know anything about the landlord???? do they raise rent a lot? can you lock in the rent for a year or two or will it go up after 3/6 months? when you see it today, knock on some doors & find out, if you can. if all sounds good, i say do it.

Actually that is low rent for the size and geographical location of the apartment. They don't raise the rent to keep tenants happy. I will ask about a lease though. They can't raise your rent in a lease.

IBI I live in San Diego.

Omg I realized I could walk to the gym and the grocery store if I moved there. omg omg omg.
Oh yea did I mention there is a walk in closet and hardwood floors?

yes do it!! In Chicago they usually make you pay 1mo rent as the deposit PLUS most places have another pet deposit on top of that.

    Good luck!!

God do I remember how hard it was to find a decent place to live in Southern California!! I was paying $1,100 a month to live a crap hole before I moved out here to Colorado. I love going back to visit but I don't think I could ever handle living there again. San Diego is beautiful for sure though... so I can see why it is hard for people to leave. Best of luck with finding an awesome new place!

Is there like a 4 application minimal? If not , I hope you stayed and filled out an app.

Ive done that before, being one of the last to see the place. I prefer it that way. I just hang around and gain a rapport with the owner.

I would have flashed some cash (hopefully your credit is good) so that he knew I was serious.
