Oil pulling![]()

Another vote for oil pulling! Google it, and you should come up with threads on low carb friends as well. There are threads, in different forums there, with loads of posts on it..

Intake calcium.

Try wearing a mouthguard at night. This will stop your teeth from becoming more loose and possibly from shifting.
it shouldn't make you queasy because you're not swallowing it.
and, in learning about oils it's really rather fascinating.
I know what you mean about queasy though because occasionally I take coconut oil internally and I can only take it solid without wanting to gag forever afterward (even now and I haven't done it in a couple months.)
but swishing is totally different. think about how you swish with lysterine (which actually depletes the good bacteria in your mouth as well as the bad because of the alcohol content. no good.) oil doesn't kill the good bacteria, and it's a more solid liquid so it's kind of better at getting the crap out from in between your teeth.
it totally took care of a lot of my plaque build up (I only have to watch out for the parts in between my teeth which I can occasionally feel with my teeth.)
if you use coconut oil it also can help whiten your teeth. there are so many testimonials to this effect.
It also helps when you're sick because
a) you have a lot of germs (maybe from your plaque or other crap) in your mouth that you're swallowing, so this helps take care of that
and
b) there's a big vein underneath your tongue. ever taken sublingual tablets (b vitamins are popular for this)? the idea is that it's readily absorbed faster than swallowing it.
with oil pulling, it's the reverse idea, that sublingually you can help pull out toxins from your blood flow, because supposedly all the blood in your body flows through that vein under your tongue within twenty minutes.
all I know is it works for multiple reasons that I don't have to do with placebo effects.
also-- you're NOT gargling!!!
you're swishing it through your teeth and around your mouth. it doesn't really get near the back of your throat.
