Default for the life of you DON"T do this

so i'm a work, my third night. it's dead. a few men walk in, and all the girls are all, "hey baby. come here daddy. come sit with me." geesh. can a guy order his drink first? can he find a place to sit first? guys get annoyed by that and will not return to that club if they get bombarded by strippers as soon as they walk through the door. now i admit, if it's a regular, sure. but that seems to turn guys off from what i have seen and what i have read.

    ^^^agreed

one club i worked at wouldn't allow the dancers approach unless a waitress already offered them something.

maybe its different because my club doesnt serve alcohol but i grab guys when they walk in the door sometimes. i tell them they dont need to bother sitting down because we can just go straight to dance and get their night started. one night i did this and ended up getting a few dances there, then i sat with him and he got another few in about 30 mins (it was the end of the night and i was tired and didnt care anymore. i dont usually sit that long) and tipped me $50. i think he got 7 dances total plus the extra 50.

so yeah, i dont agree with you.

It depends on the club really and how the girls do it you know? yelling across the room is classless an a big turn off. some clubs its best to be the first person to get a guy

but I think your right because i watch girls approach guys b4 their 1st drink and then they get up i either get the guy after his 1st or second and it takes less then a cpl seconds to get a dance. while the girl who sat w him thru his 1st beer got nothing

so i guess it all depends

Sometimes I'll hustle a guy before his first beer if it's really slow but I make sure I come across as very casual, hustle a little long and don't let on my desperation.

yeah grabbing someone too quick can appear "desperate" even if its not.
but everyone has their own approach. id rather wait till they had a drink.

In some of the larger clubs here with over a hundred girls, thats how its done. I used to think it was "tacky, desperate...and all those other things until I realized that I was the only fool standing around not making any money. To me, it depends on the club.

It doesn't go over very well here, but I could see how it could work in other clubs.

Depends 100% on the club. Some clubs I've been in, that's HOW it works, and others, yeah. Don't dare do that.

I'll never forget though, I had a great night once because of this move. 2 customers in club and all the girls just sitting around. Then, one guy, a total whale, walks in. He makes a beeline for the ATM, and Emily and I looked at each other, and both went in for the double teamed kill. We ended up each making well over a grand off him, but he was a serious pain in the ass. I wrote about him once...

but you know, and i mean this in the nicest way, it's your third night!! don't give out hustle advice, absorb hustle hut and ask questions.

haha agreed.... until you've worked in a few different clubs and been in more situations, you really have no way of knowing what works/doesn't work 100% and what is a case-by case basis. (However, in this industry, EVERything is a case by case basis to some extent...)

Some guys want to dance right away. Some like to wait a while. Some have a routine if they are club regulars. Some wait for a particular girl. Some clubs have rules in place about this. So yeah... it ALL depends.

i really wish the girls would give the customers a chance to sit down and watch the entire line up of girls (small club) before approaching him, but unfortunately a lot of times the girls will approach the customers before they even sit down.

Attack mode is sometimes the only way to make money when there are more girls than customers. You just have to wait awhile to try to sell them on dances, but what's the harm in just approaching? To me it's like walking into Disneyland and being annoyed when Mickey Mouse immediately approaches you. Doesn't make sense.

It's not like anyone wants to do it, but sometimes it's either that or see some other girl do it and take him for dances, while you're still at the bar waiting for a guy to feel settled in.

newbies do have advice to give, as you can see some vets have agreed that it's not the best way to approach customers. i've had long time custies themselves who have said this. so it wasn't just based off my dancing experience. is it not acceptable that maybe i have friends who frequent strip clubs and tell me these things? and i've spoke to many a girls and found out that this really doesn't work in memphis. each city, each club has its own particular hustle. in memphis the guys really hate it when they're getting flustered by strippers. i think they're only three of us active members currently dancing in memphis, if i'm not the only one cuz i think shady is retired. maybe in bigger/smaller cities it helps to go at the customers to get the money but if you come to memphis and ask the customers they will tell you they would like to get inside the club first. they say it's a major look of desperation and they hate it.

So if this is true for Memphis and your particular club, say so in the beginning. It's not true in many clubs and the advice you gave is actually a disservice to some dancers that work in clubs where this is standard operating procedure.

Also, maybe your tune will change after you get tired of being on shifts with more girls than customers, which many girls are.

You sound like the customer that says, "Hey, you know how to sell dances? I have a good friend that dances, this is what you should do..."

Ummmm NO! We won't listen to that customer, and Giggles, you need to realize you are out of your league posting information on your 3rd freaking night of work!!!!!!!!! Read this thread, it directly applies to you.
    http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=120033

Also, step back and think about whether you want to fit in within the community of SW or whether you want people always rolling their eyes when they read your posts? I'm being serious, I mean this positively and in the nicest way possible. Look how many people quoted my earlier statement and said thank you or amen? I'm saying, you may not be familiar with the SW way, or with forums in general, but you're on the verge of not fitting in at all. Step back, cool off, realize we're not attacking you personally, but we are not pleased with the actions of posting a technique to try in a new thread saying this is HOW we should hustle.

Instead, try, "Hey, what are your thoughts on this technique, I'm not sure whether it's good or bad...." because that's an approach that more folks appreciate. It's all in the way you word things.

    Love it!

right! customers giving hustling advice is like nails on the chalkboard. They can't get everything they want (free entertainment) and we can't get everything we want (money out of their pockets as soon as they walk in the door) so we have to meet half-way.

How to reach that half-way point most effectively is what Hustle Hut is all about.

just out of curiosity, how many more dances did the girls you're bitching about do than you?

well, not to sound like a bitch, but i don't really care about the other girls. if i get to him first and get dances out of him and then he sees a girl later who he thinks is prettier or would have prefered to dance with for whatever reason, i would've lost out on that money. and i don't owe it to any girl to wait and see who he likes best.

"Vulturing" as this is called where I work, is SOP. It would probably not work in the Midwest but I would be starving if I didn't adopt it in Las Vegas.

Also, there is a variation of using this approach. Grabbing some guy at the door and dragging him to VIP and starting before he even knows the price is not good business, even if it works part of the time.

Grabbing some guy at the door and selling him before any other girl gets to him, is good business.

Sometimes the club is so crowded guys have no place to sit, so they stand against the wall. These are my first targets, because you can seat them in VIP

Keep in mind demographics have a lot to do with hustling techniques. Know your market.

Yeah, I was thinking of my time in Las Vegas specifically when I wrote that.

I'm laughing about the idea of a guy sitting, ordering his drink, surveying all the girls and THEN making his choice at a busy Las Vegas club without being bombarded by girls. Ain't happening.

There are many times a customer got a girl latched on to him before he's even seen the main part of the club. And there's a line of girls waiting for these guys to come in so they can do this!

And the crazy part....it works every once in awhile.

^ Sometimes there's a line of girls near the bathroom or watching the ATM waiting to pounce too!

I admit, I circle the ATM too and the cage (where they run funny money) so I can better identify spenders.

It sounds super aggressive, but really you're just positioning yourself at the right place at the right time.

However, I don't latch on like the freaking kiosks attendants at the mall. It still comes down to your approach.
