    Default "Snapped"

Grandma and I really enjoy watching this show on the Oxygen channel. Anybody else watch it? What the hell is wrong with some of these women?

It's real life cases of women who "snap" and kill their husband for a lover, money, etc. Last night there was an episode of a woman who worked for GlaxoSmithKline as one of their research scientists, her husband worked for another lab. Her husband started coming down with flu like illness and getting sick after every meal. He died a few months later, turns out it was arsenic poisoning. She and a guy she worked with at GSK had been poisoning him for 5 months because they were having an affair and wanted to do him in. Her lover ended up committing suicide and she moved away. They had yet to find her guilty or acquit her.

It's basically murder mystery cases. I find it interesting though. The stories give a little background info on the women and they are usually just every day to day people but they end up committing murder.

    I love it too!
There was one story of this woman who endured years of horrible domestic violence so I understood that one.

I loved the show! I learned 101 ways to kill a man and almost get away with it.

    I LOVE Snapped.

    & Captured.
    & Women Behind Bars.

I don't think there's anything wrong with SOME of the woman, a lot of their asshole husbands had it coming.

But yet again, most seem downright pyscho.

My ex had an aunt that hacked her husband to pieces with an axe while he slept. But he'd been beating her and raping her and tying her up all day while he went to work so she couldn't leave him, so they called it temporary insanity induced by trauma and she was released, with psychiatric care. A couple years later she was fine and she married someone else and was living quite happily. I say good for her.

Your ex's aunt is my new hero. After abuse that severe, can't say I blame her. Hopefully the time in the psych ward was helpful to her in terms of at least getting past PTSD.

I've seen a handful of episodes. Never got into it.

    So true!

I remember the first time I saw this show, it was an all-day marathon. My ex asked me what I was watching...I said "Oh, just a show about women who murder their husbands....it's very educational"

That night, the dishes were washed, the garbage taken out, and the dog walked all before I even got off the couch
