    Default Thunderstorms

We have been getting them every night for the last week and some really nasty ones at that. Trees were down everywhere after yesterday's storm. Now I can hear another one coming up. Anybody else getting a lot of storms in their part of the world?

tons, but it's a given for FL in the summer. it's one of the few things i still love about this state.

we have the best storms in the continental US. our lightning kicks ass.

without our storms the humid heat wouldn't be worth it at all.

the only thing i dislike about big thunderstorms is the fact that it makes my dog insane and clingy.

We are, but only because it's monsoon season, so this is totally normal.

Gawd, I was in Arizona two summers ago for flight attendant training and I remember how dreadfully hot it was. That rain was certainly a relief. Some of the dust storms were pretty amazing too.

Yeah, but unfortunately it makes it really humid, and that humidity sucks in 114 degrees!

But it IS nice to get a break from the constant bright sunshine!

We've had them every day too...course we're not that far apart lol. Hubby actually got a picture of a huge tornado on his way home today. It was really big and looked like it was very close. He said it was coming right toward him before it split in two and went back up. I asked him if he was scared and he said it was too cool to be scared lol. I think I would have been freaking out!

LOL! Yeah, they keep having storm warnings here, which is just silly. The rain lasts about 20 minutes and passes on so quickly it can hardly qualify as a storm at all.

Yup, I'm in NC, too and our power was out for a couple hours tonight. Supposedly there was a tornado touchdown yesterday, but it seems to have missed us.

No rain at all in Seattle (that in itself sounds odd) but we had a doozy of a thunderstorm in Portland last weekend. It was shaking the house and it sounded like the sky was being torn open. I love thunderstorms.

A storm like that in Arizona could cause a flash flood downstream, though. My brother-in-law and his wife live near Kingman, and they have a dry stream bed nearby which floods when there is a storm way over there in the mountains.

^^Exactly, it floods very quickly and don't always last only 20 minutes. We had a nasty one up on the North side of town where I work and it rained extremely hard for almost an hour....

Eh, I'll take flash floods over extreme drought any day.

It's going to storm up near my work today. I can feel it. But I'm tired of them closing the effing wash on La Cholla because I use La Cholla a lot!
