Default Does anyone have a "stripper bump"?

I wouldn't even have recognized it for what it is if I hadn't read Jenna Jameson's How to Make Love Like a Porn Star...where she described getting a small bump on her lower back from wearing stripper heels so much.

It doesn't hurt or anything, and other people don't notice it because it's so small, but I have a small bump (right on my spine) on the lowest part of my back (right above my ass).

    Do you have one?

Nope, not anymore but I know exactly what you are talking about! I use to have one years and years ago when I either didn't know what the fuck I was doing on the stage floor or my body wasn't broke in enough. I know I had a lot of spine issues. I still wear the same shoes I wore 8 years ago ..gross I know. I can't part with them. So I wouldn't blame it on the shoes.

Regardless, I see a lot of chicks with it. Ive always wondered if it was something similar to water on the knee.

    ^^

Weird...cuz I've been dancing for about 2 years, and I don't do anything crazy on stage that would do something to my back.

So does this mean that they can go away?

I had it. Its gone now. I dont think its from shoes - I think its from floorwork... the hard floor against your lower spine. Its gone since I havent been on stage in forever.

    I have it...
Started noticing it really in the past 6-9 months, even though I've only danced about 3 of those months. It's still there... kind of weird looking to me, but nothing crazy.

Hrm. I don't have it and I've logged many hours in stripper heels. But I don't do floor work.

Yeah I think she meant it's from floorwork. I've had temporary bumps, depending on the sort of stage, but no perma-bump.

But what, on the floor, would cause this bump?

I don't do anything where I'm laying on my back, or putting a lot of pressure on my back (with the exception of wearing huge heels).

Yea, I dont' either. I don't get on the stage often, and when I do, I'm not doing much floorwork.

Personally I think it's from laying on your back on the stage and either
    a) rolling around
    b) doing that weird scissor kick shit
    c) just laying on your back enough where the small of it is irritated and bruised.

Think about it, your spine isn't made for contact with a hard ass floor. There isnt' any fat over it, at least not enough to protect it from constant irritation.

I just think it's similar to water on the knee. If it starts to hurt go and have it looked at. But I bet if you just lay off doing anything on your back while on the stage you'll notice a difference.

I'm glad I work in a club with no floor work allowed, it's saved my knees and spine!

I don't have it (yet-LOL) but I do "unkink" my back in a hot bath after every shift. There is a noticable sound coming from my lower back. Yikes.

I have two huge knots in my lower back, one on each side of my spine.. near the bottom. They get extremely painful if I'm in a stressful situation.

I had one of those... It was from rolling around on the hard stage - and it hurt like a bitch too. I started being more careful about what floorwork moves I was doing and it has since gone away.

    You're spot on!

I used to work at a no contact, nude club that was very stage centered. Needless to say lots and lots of floor work involved. I had the hugest bump on my tail bone, sometimes it would tear my skin it was so tender. I became concerned it was going to turn into a cyst

It's gone now because I barely go on stage and rarely do floor work to the extent I used to.

We've had this exact thread before. It's on your lower spine. next time your on stage the dramatic way to do it would to lay on you back and basically do a crunch. The place on your spine that hurts because its being grinded on the hard stage is the place where you get a bruise and it swells into a swollen bruise aka "bump". It's just a bruise, nothing to interesting.
