    Default $2 bills "annie up"

I think it would be cool to have a club with an atm/bar that only gave out $2 dollar bills. Why is it still acceptable to give one dollar for a whole song with a naked girl. I ran into a woman who worked at our club when it first opened over 40 years ago and I was thinking about how she prolly got the same $1 tip back then that we do now and it probably payed for 2 gallons of gas! Don't get me wrong I'd be excited if every person that sat at the stage tipped at least that, but damn "ANTE up bitches!"

I went to a club where they gave out $2 bills. It was the Vanity, in Columbus Ohio.

I had an amazing custie, back in the day, who used to tip the girls on stage with $2 bills. Bless his heart. He was also one of the most fun, respectful, and generous mo-fo's around and he was only in his early 20's. I think he got them at his bank, but an ATM could theoretically give out $2 bills... that would rock!

Me, being a newbie dancer at the time, I thought $2 bills were the coolest thing EVAR... I never saw one before that. Teehehehehe. Let's just say I was smitten.

My mom used to give them out as kindergarten graduation gifts, that's how the value has changed.
I was freaked out with the new $5 dollar bill with the purple 5 on it. I thought it was fake. The customer was all sad, like "they gave it to me at your bar"

    isn't it "ante up?" /threadjack

anyway, I know a few clubs that do that - my old one would try to give out as many $2 as possible, but the guys never used them, since you hardly see $2 in full circulation anymore!

$5 is the smallest bill we have in Australia anything less is coins. So that is the smallest tip we can receive. But Aussies dont tip unless they are getting something in return usually so you will rarely just get tipped on stage. They will instead buy a stage dance for $20 coz we only get naked for that.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

I've used $2 bills before for stage tips...it seems to draw attention.

And yes, it's "ante up," not "annie up."

Oh my bad..... I stand corrected... well I tried to edit it but it wouldnt let me change the thread title so Annie it is.

My manager hates when we turn in $2 bills. He thinks they're bad luck or maybe just hates how they screw up the $100 piles.

One time this custy was all happy with his $2 bill. like "when's the last time you saw one of these" and I said "not to bust your bubble, but actually this guy and his wife came in last night and gave me about 10 crispy new ones, that's all they were tipping with" I'm so cruel,, nah he still gave me the $2 even tho I always have to put in my "2 cents" worth.

I like $2 bills and thought they were good luck but on my last two shifts I have come into possession of 4 $2 bills, and those were two of the worst shifts I have ever had dancing. Maybe luck is right around the corner?

You work with a woman who has been dancing more than 40 years? Wowz.

The first time I saw a $2 was when I was 9 and sent away to 30 cat litter companies listed in Cat Fancy, for information. One of them sent me a $2 bill to show appreciation...word! This was in 1995, better economical times I suppose. I saved it as long as I could, then spent it on chinese food.

    Indeed, $2 would be better.

Sorry to threadjack but I went to the store the other day and gave the cashier a
$2 bill with my other bills, and she handed me the $2 bill back saying that it wasn't real money. We had to call her manager over just so he could verify it wasn't play money. Wow.

I think someone said this, but both the nude clubs - Vanity and Private Dancer - here in Ohio give back only 2 dollar bills as change. I think it's fucking brilliant.

Diamonds, in Dayton, is also a nude club (and the only one where you can drink to my understanding) and gives twosies. I think it's a BACE thing.

We're buck nekkid! Don't give us a damn one dollar bill and expect anything more than a "thank you". Honestly, the same goes for a twosy. haha

Most guys tip more than one dollar these days. I can't help laughing at someone who wants attention for $1. That's why I always try to look to see what they are tipping, so I know how much attention to give for it. A dollar gets about 5 secs.

I had a customer last night tipping $2s on stage---I always end up saving them in my drawer w/ the origami-ish money(folded hearts, frogs, symbols, etc), dollar coins, and other oddities from work

Nah she sells costumes now, but she used to dance there when it was opened,,, can you imagine society's view of them back then... I respect these fore"mothers" of the industry.. she said she used to play music like "hey big spender" ...that's what I should've called the thread

oh wow this is awesome, see even then they made music for the strip joints!
