Default Am I the only one going through this?

It's been awhile since I've been on here...I remember being on here looking for advice in my pre-dancer days...anywho, so I finally did it...I just moved back from NJ this past May back to KY (don't ask...lol). I danced at a couple clubs there in my short time of living there. I was a nervous wreck at first but after awhile I got the hang of things. Well, since moving back, I haven't been back to dancing. I went to two clubs who were really interested in me, but I never went back. Why? Well, #1, I really didn't want to work day shift which is all they were hiring for...where I live its really dead in the day. When I went to talk to the owner no one was in there. The dancers were at the bar drinking and looking really bored. Am I stupid for not wanting to work in the day when no one comes in?
And 2nd, I told myself that I wanted to stop with the dancing; more for personal and family reasons. But times are hard and I'm in need of money BAD! It's been hard enough for me to find a 9-5 job and every single day I've been contemplating on whether I should go back to the club and make up some lame excuse as to why I never showed up for work the next day. Sorry that this is super long, but I need some serious advice. Has anyone ever just said to themselves "I'm going to stop dancing" only to find themselves saying "I'm going to start dancing again"? Its so much that I have to do and I have a ton of bills to pay. Not to mention that the gas price is kicking our asses. I just don't know what to do.

all i can really say is the bills have to be paid. try another club in your area to see if you can work nights. with your look you should be able to get in at a lot of clubs imo. i tell myself i'ma stop dancing but i've been looking for a job since i had my daughter. she's four months now. even the fastfood jobs wouldn't call me back. looks like i'm stuck

Yes. I've quit several times..once for almost a year. Always got sucked back in for some reason(last time my house was torn up by Hurricane Wilma and we depleted our savings fixing it)

I hope to stick by my decision this time to at least never dance at home again. The clubs here just cause me WAY too much stress for no return($$). I cant bring myself to hustle at home because I'm in panic attack mode all night so I cant make money here. I do well usually out of town..I can hustle there. But here....too many really bad experiences for me to do it.

Oh..and BTW..can you make your font a bit bigger? It's a little difficult to read. Thanks!

My apologies. Yeah I know what you mean. I've danced out of town and made pretty good. But at times I didn't want to actually dance in a club so I did a couple private parties but I really wasn't feeling that either. Yeah, one of my friends told me that. Its just that where I live its absolutely dead in the clubs.

Where in KY are you at? There are quite a few clubs in KY you could try.

As far as working the dayshift, me personally I'd take it..I'll tell them I'll work the week AS LONG AS I get at least 1-2 night shifts.

I would think that is only fair. Do they have a black girl quota at the two clubs you got hired at? Maybe that's why they are only hiring on dayshift for you.

I live in Northern KY...close to Cincinnati. And no I don't think there is a quota. I was just told that they have more than enough dancers at night and not enough in the day. I just don't want to be bored out of my mind.

Yeah...that area. I haven't tried Playpen's...but Liberty's and Brass Bull were the ones who hired me. And I got offers to dance in Dayton but I couldn't drive up there everyday. Gas prices are being a pain in the ass.

Girl, I get up there, and I don't even drive. Do you have kids, boyfriend, family in NKY? I suggest you get a room at the Intown Suites and stay for a week to try out the clubs. If you like it, and make money (which will be wayyyyyy more than you making in NKY) you can move to the dayton area, or at least Fairfield areas.

Also, there are girls who drive to Dayton to work that live out in Florence, so yea, you could always car pool. Something to think about.

Well I do live in NKY...but that is something to think about. I heard the money is good in Dayton.
