    Default body and pole

well..... it was totaly dead all night, so i asked one of the girls to show me sum stuff on the pole, she showed me a few spins an a sorta lift (i dunno the name), so i was playin about on the pole for about 30 mins and the skin on my right hand ripped, so i came stright off lol.

this morning when i woke up i have 3 bruises on 1 knee and one huuuuge bruise on my other knee an one on my shin, a swollen wrist and 3 blisters on my fingers lol, despite all this i really enjoyed it, an i want to learn more, but......i was wondering how long it takes for ur skin to get used to the pole becoz atm i look like sumones attempted to knee cap me lol

oh its a static pole too.

I've been dancing just short of a year, and I violate that pole pretty bad lol. I am extremely pale and anemic, so the bruises are pretty much always there for me.... my legs look like cheetah print, my hips, my arms.... in my experience the hickey lookin one you get in your thighs tend to stop atfer a while, and if I dance consistently for a while without learning any new pole tricks, I dont seem to get any new bruises. I took a month off work and it was the first time I had seen my legs clear in months.

Fear not, the bruising is really bad when you're just learning, its hell, but after you repeat the same thing many times over your body gets used to it and it becomes second nature.

I bruised a rib once on the pole in my second club, and never did it again. The body learns to do the stuff without hurting itself, naturally, after a while. Some women do bruise more easily than others, and some fade longer. I worked with one who bruised all the time even though she kicked ass on the pole. She never stopped doing it though.

Arnica gel or capsule work wonders for when you are learning pole!

It helps reduce bruising, and makes the existing ones go away faster!

The brusing will not happen so often once your skin has toughened up and become accustomed to the abuse!

I have had some real good ones...but dont get them often now...only when getting a new trick!

My bruising stopped after a few weeks but beware that you will get new ones as you progress on to new moves. After that you should likely only get them if you take breaks from pole work and start back up again. Even then they won’t be as bad as at first.

The bruises and sore muscles are so worth it though so don't give up!
