THis question for the major poledancers here-I do a SHITTON of pole work, aerial work, etc. And i have bad joints. Lately, i have had minimal of my "normal" pain-tendonitis, swollen joints, etc. I think the stregnth built has somethign to do with it. The dr. said that the best thing i could do was to build stregnth to support the defective ligaments(i have a collegen difficiency) At any rate, I feel fine for hte most part-particularly compared to the me of two years ago(when i wasn't dancing, and often hurt to where i couldn't get outof bed or function)
However, I have this weird achey feeling in my bones. Like, I go to do a spin on the pole, and supporting my weight on my arms, I swear i feel the solid bone bending. Again, its NOT in the joints, whihc are my problem area. Its solidly in the bones. In my arms for hte most part, but sometimes in the legs too.
I've been tested for arthritis, carpal tunnel, etc. and have none of that. So its weird that my achey joints are less of a problem, but my achey bone IS! Its only during certain pole spins.
COuld it be possible that I've messed my technique up and am not doing them right? DO you experience this too? TOday it hurt so bad that I could barely climb the pole, and had to leave work early.
Ideas? I know i should go to the dr. But i lost my insurance, so no luck.
