    Default Drink commission

Ok, so I think I'm going to do it. I'm gonna go to the first club that hired me and see if they will let me come back. (I just have to think of an excuse as to why I never showed up). But I do know that there is a drink commission, which I fully do not understand. The previous clubs that I worked at before didn't have this...all we worked for were tips. I never really got a chance to ask the owner to explain this to me because like I said, I didn't go back the next day. But I do want to at least know what the hell I'm working for. And what happens if you don't meet the minimum for that? I could have everything explained to me going back in, but I don't want to look like a dumbass going in there.

I don't know what yours is like but my club operates this way:

Customers can buy us a drink for an exaggerated price-- 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 so on and so on up to like 100 or whatever. We get the drink and we also get a ticket that says who the drink was for (me) and how much the drink was worth (say, 10$). At the end of the night, we turn all these drink tickets into our manager and we get 70 percent (or whatever percent your club gives) from the total dollar amount of drinks we sold.

For buying the drink, we are expected to spend some time with the customer. I always order shots so my time is quickly spent, but I know some girls get cocktails and beer and shit like that. It's kind of a way of making sure we get paid for any time we spend with the customer. If he refuses to buy drinks or dances and is not tipping me cash for me sitting there, I'm out.

We don't have to sell a minimum number of drinks at all. We also sell dances and champaigne rooms also.

The guy buys a drink and that is based on how much time you sit and chat with him. You only make half of what you sell, which is why alot of girls in clubs like that try their hardest to sell champagne.

Keep in mind, you're gonna be doing alot of drinking...that's not healthy for your body. Over time, that could leave to cirrhosis of the liver.

This kind of thing is not legal in alot of places so it might be best to check with your local laws if it is legal or not in your area.

Don't trust other dancers or people at the club to tell you the truth about this either, find out for yourself. It would seriously stink to get arrested sometime for hustling a drink of all things.

What LadyLuck said--Here in Ohio, drink commision is LEGAL but it is ILLEGAL for a dancer to ask for or 'hustle' the drink... basically, the bartender has to come around and see if they will get it for us? It's all goofy.

All the clubs in the area that OP works do this. They don't even get nude or topless there. Op, do they even allow contact?

Ok, now I understand. Thanks ladies. It kind of makes me paranoid now. The clubs here in NKY mostly all have drink commissions and honestly, I wouldn't feel comfortable for a number of reasons. I can't even hold my liquor so I def would not want to be drinking and get wasted on my shift. Why do alot of clubs do this?

Well I mean, you can always have non-alcoholic drinks I suppose. Like, work something out with the bartender ahead of time or whatever...

...Sadly, I've met a lot of customers though who will want to sniff your drink or taste it or whatever and get all skeevy if you weren't drinking real liqour for what you paid. I did the whole 'fuck off I used to be an alcoholic' bit for awhile but I still lost customers on it.

Drink hustle is pretty cruddy, especially if dances and stuff aren't also an option. <3

Well do you think I should go back then? Just your honest opinion.

I mean like, personally, I dunno. Just go try it and if it sucks, whatever, you didn't lose anything and at least you can come back and say 'yeah, bad idea' haha. At least you'll know.

I wouldn't be too nervous--watch, you'll work a night and just end up being bored all night or something.

OP, I have seen a lot of posts on here by women who say they have the bartender agree to serve them only non-alcoholic drinks, though they never let the customer in on it.

Yeah, I think I will. I'm going to go in tomorrow and talk to the owner. She's still probably only looking for girls to work in the day which is kinda a bummer cause I don't wanna be bored, but it will be good to give me some practice on my own time.
